I moved to Chiloquin, OR because of Train Mountain. This place is spectacular. Indescribable with words. Pictures alone cannot do it justice. You have to see to believe.

http://www.trainmountain.org says it all. For the lovers of railroads, this is one of the finest visits that you can ever make. A cautionary note: Train Mountain is most active during their meets, and those would provide the visitor with the best experience. Consult their "Meet Schedule" on the website for best information.

If you like to ride mini-rail (no, it's not just for children) and spend time in the pine forests of high altitude OR, this is a don't miss stop. Weekends the public can ride at the Klamath and Western RR. Most days the main Train Mtn museum (longest mini rail track in the world) is open and can be accessed if volunteers are on hand to show you about. Many guests will decide to join (not expensive) so they can ride the TMRR. Beautiful setting through pine and aspen, lots of wildlife, miniature villages and lots of unspoiled land. There are a few rooms available at the TMRR, camping is possible and there are a few nearby (not very good) motels. For a lovely break combine a day at TM with a night or two at Crater Lake Lodge (about 35 min away) or stay in Klamath Falls (about 35 min away.)
