This was our 1st trip to the Blue River and the Trout Tournament we really enjoyed our trip and will be returning again. Scotties Hamburgers were delicious also. And everyone was truly very friendly.

You do have to have a Hunting or Fishing License or pass to visit, somewhat annoying if just visiting.

When I come to visit family in southern Oklahoma, I make a trip to the blue rlver every time.. It's a magical place. The trout fishing in the West winter is a blast and just to go camping or hiking is worth the stop for family or solo. Top 5 places to stop in Oklahoma

The Blue River in Oklahoma is a very quiet, beautiful, remote and undeveloped place. There are several nice water falls. The fishing is pretty good if you are willing to go into the river. Bank access to most of the good fishing places can be limited. I walk in the river and do well for catfish and bass.Be warned, this place is full of chiggers, mosquitoes, snakes, and briars. I highly recommend putting some deet on soon as you get there. Camping is very primitive. The bathrooms are well let's just say use the woods. There is no running water or electricity. This is a great place if you want some primitive adventure with nature and fishing. If you want modern conveniences, you better go somewhere else.

We have visited here recently and it has really been cleaned up since I was a kid. This is mostly due to the fact that you have to pay to get a license to get in. A great place to get away from it all and see armadillos.

Blue River has been my favorite place to go camping & swimming for many years! It is beautiful, peaceful & serene. My family loves to go to Blue River as much as I do. There's a special area & spot we like to camp at. My husband & son like to fish there too. I like to float the river, mostly, I have a certain spot in the river I love to be that's so relaxing. At night, I love the soothing sound of the water flowing. We've met some nice people there through the years too. Our children loved our raccoon visitors at night in our camp; they're so fun to watch...DO NOT TOUCH. They are cute, but wild. :)

Blue River is a fantastic hunting, fishing and recreational area. Unfortunately you have to have a hunting, fishing license of recreational permit to swim there. It has been a favorite place of mine to swim and snorkel in beautiful fresh spring waters from the Arbuckle Aquifer. When I pass from this Earth my ashes will take one last swim ! e

It is a nice place to vosot. I liked walking and driving over the water from one of the many falls there. It is a good place to fish, walk, picnic, or wade in the water. Beautiful!

nice places to swim around Tishoming. And you can catch fish all along the river banks for miles

We called ahead and it seemed like there was plenty of space before driving up from Texas. When we got there there were a lot of campers. We found a spot by a large rock and set up camp only to have the park rangers tell us we couldn't camp there. We didn't want to camp in a parking lot so we ended up driving all the way back home that night. We won't try that place again unless they let us reserve a spot. We would have gladly paid to be able to reserve a place and not have to have made a trip for nothing.

It's hard to believe that you've in Oklahoma! Great camping but primitive sites & the river is so soothing.

Blue River is a hidden treasure, just East of Tishomingo, OK. The river is a perfect spot for trout fishing, swimming, camping and just relaxing and enjoying the beauty of the land. Lots of small waterfalls abound and there is even a rope swing into the water and a natural "slide" that is fun with a river raft. Plan on spending the day and enjoy the natural beauty of this quaint Oklahoma river.
