We traveled 4 hours to spend Breeders Cup Saturday at Will Rogers Downs, and enjoyed the conveniences of the Horse Racing Simulcast area. The area was clean and spacious with lots of monitors. The downside was not enough betting windows.

When the weather's good, one of my favorite Western tracks with friendly folks willing to talk about their horses. There's room to lean on the rail at the paddock or at the finish line. When the weather's too bad to hang around outside sizing up the ponies you have to deal with all those smoking zombies in the casino. They run a Thoroughbred season in the spring and Quarter horses, Paints and Appaloosas in the fall. The KOA right there at the racetrack looked very tempting.

We camped at KOA at the racetrack, was nice to just walk out the door and see the balloons overhead! At nightglow, just took our camp chairs to the rail to see the balloons light up. There were vendors and the morning of the second day had a pancake breakfast for purchase. Near to Will Rogers Museum and antique shops in Claremore as well as JM Davis Gun Museum. Plenty of space between the campers (no tents at this place but Lake Oolagah is nearby if you wanted that) though you need to bring your own grill. Full hookups means no dumping required, and they have nice showers and a gas station is just across the highway. If you like gambling, a nice casino as well as horse racing (they also had lawn mower races). But I really liked the Gatesway Balloon Festival here the weekend we went!

Live Horse racing in season, simulcast racing, casino, concerts, special events, restaurant, dances, KOA campground home town hospitality-really nice, helpful personnel and good location

When the horses are running, it's a fun change of pace from "just another casino". Even if you don't bet on the horses, the grandstands are comfortable and shady. A nice place to spend the afternoon!

I love horse races and Will Rogers Downs provides good races that are close to home. Most of the races are with quarter horses but they are fast & I have won at times!

The casino is rather small and the drinks are expensive. They do have the horse racing tho, which is nice when they run the track, i dont follow the simulcast. They food is really good and they have a late night breakfast buffet that is very inexpensive and opens when the bar closes. The free concerts that they have are cool tho, and the dance floor is big enough your not bumping into people.

This is a typical small casino. You lose more money that you win.

This place is in the middle of nowhere! Not much to do here but give them some money for slot machines or drink a few beers, the racing here seems very slow! Kind of a second rate horse racing track.
