I don't ususally seek out wine bars, but the restaurant nearby had a long wait and my wife and I hadn't tried this place. The few tables were full so we sat at the bar, also not my usual prefernce, but it was fine as we weren't too hungry and they have a very limited menu.We tasted a dry red sample of the wine they make, and didn't care much for it. Then tried another red they produce--Mario & Guido--and ordered a bottle. It was fresh and rich and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Especially at $16/bottle. We brought another bottle home for a gift, and purchased a case of their Christmas cranberry wine (which we didn't even taste first) for gifts...also at the $16 price. We had the flatbread with tomatoes and balsamic. It was pretty good and a large enough size for two, though the flatbread itself should have been toasted longer as it was too "bready".Bottom line, we enjoyed it and will definitely be back!(PS: For some reason TripAdvisor list this as an attraction. There is no "attraction" here. It's a wine bar.)

We've been visiting all the wineries in the area. This place is really pleasant looking enough and we ended up buying 2 bottles based on a guess that it tasted good (more later). I did not care for our server. Pretty young, which is fine but didn't really have the personality for a wine bar. Referring to us middle agers as "guys" was kind of a put off. She poured the most minuscule samples...I'm talking like tiny tiny sips. Not sure if that's how they all do it, but someone needs to give that girl a posipour so she knows how much an ounce is. For Pete's sake, how am I supposed to know if I like your wine if I can't get a good taste of it! Also, she kept referring to the place as an "urban winery". I think this is code for "we're not real wine makers because we don't grow the grapes or make the juice so we'll come up with a catchy name to hide that fact." I won't be back until their servers grow up.

The Powell Village Winery and Tasting Room is one of my top 5 favorite wineries in Ohio. My friend and I have been trying to visit several wineries but we keep coming back to this one! The owners are so nice! They mingle with the customers and make you feel like friends. Is a great place to celebrate with friends or for a special date. Prices are extremely affordable.
