The Clifton Opera House, in my opinion, is one of the best kept secrets in the area. Built in the late 1800's, this venue has been lovingly restored and currently functions as a location for community gatherings and programs, as well as being available for rental for events. It is air-conditioned and has fairly comfortable (and portable) theater seating for around 200 people. Each Friday and Saturday night, year-round, local music begins at 7:30pm, with affordable admission. More people looking for a weekend activity should consider this venue as the acoustics are really nice and the setting friendly and intimate - also of note is that you are supporting local artists and helping to fund other village restoration projects. Recently I was able to listen to a Celtic group perform for an audience of about 50 (and the week prior they played for much larger crowds at the Dublin Irish Festival)! Restrooms are handicap accessible and concessions are available. Their current webpage is part of the Village of Clifton's website: http://www.villageofclifton.com/index.php?p=1_14. Check it out!
