    i have been going to the spa for my manicures for about 5 years now and have been using the same person. it is the only service at marios that i am happy with. i have tried facials and massages but have not been as satisfied. the woman who does my manicures is tamara. i have found that making an appt with her is difficult as she only works half of the week and i don't know when until i call. the people at the front desk like betty have been wonderful when i call and come in. once i bought a massage for my husband and myself. he had his and after waiting one hour i was told there was no one to do mine. they offered another time or service. i got my money back and left and never scheduled one again.

    I received a spa treatment as a Christmas gift, a half day of relaxation. Can anyone explain to me where service people get the idea they're doing you a favor. The individual people who did my massage, facial etc. were fine. However, the overall attitude here and it starts at the front desk is ridiculous. Service should be provided graciously, not trying to make people feel like they are an imposition. They need some serious training here and the employee should visit a real spa to see how it's done.

    Please look at their facebook page of my pictures. We went for our 16th anniversary last month and checked out after 3 hours. Since they won't respond to my request for refund nor the BBB I am making sure people know NOT to waste your money here. They are not even accredited by the BBB, if you look at the BBB web site you will see numerous complaints they DO NOT respond to. The city should tear it down, it is so dirty and unsanitary.

    I bought a spa day for my wife and she was not happy at all. I can't speak from personal experience, but I do know that she didn't enjoy herself like I thought she would. I paid a lot of money to Mario's and am not happy myself with this.

    For the price, I thought we would be a little more pampered. The location isn't as nice as the one in Beachwood Mall, and the massage wasn't as good as I would have liked. It did smell very relaxing though.

    I received a gift card for a spa package for Christmas so I made appointments for a massage and foot reflexology. When I arrived, I noticed immediately that there was a section behind the front desk that was roped off with caution tape, with a lot of equipment within the roped-off area. The decor was in desperate need of updating, with a lot of plastic pine garlands and plastic statues. The woman behind the counter was very nice, taking my coat and escorting me upstairs for my services. The carpet on the stairs was very worn and the stairs were quite creaky. The floor upstairs was uneven. She talked me out of putting on a spa robe, saying it would be "easier" to disrobe in the treatment room. I was asked to wait in a common room. The couches were old and worn, and the wall had a hole in it. While in that room, other people came in and were taken for their services. I was still waiting for my service 15 minutes after my scheduled time, which was disconcerting since I arrived 20 minutes early. I finally got up and asked an attendant if anyone was coming or were they running late. She said she'd find out if my "ticket was up". Soon after, a man arrived to do my service, with no comment or apology about the lateness. Usually a spa will ask a female customer if they are comfortable with a male massage therapist, but it was not mentioned to me. He did a fairly good job with the massage, but did not ask what I wanted initially. The massage was way more pressure than what I would have preferred. The foot reflexology was not reflexology at all, but it was a really excellent foot rub. The floor creaked so much as the therapist walked around the table in the tiny treatment room, so there really was no relaxation. Since they took me late, I checked the clock when he finished to discover that he short-changed me by about 10 minutes. When I went downstairs to pay, I told the woman I assumed was the manager that they took me late and only after I asked what was going on. I said at that time that though I understand that things can run behind, that they should have kept me informed. She made excuses, saying that customers had come a half hour late that morning, and did not offer me anything to make the situation right, though she said shevwould speak to the employees. I thought about mentioning that I was short-changed on the duration, but was tired of the whole experience and wanted it to be over. The treatments are not cheap. I can't believe they can't make proper repairs and updates to that building. The customer service could use some work as well. I will not return.

    I was given a couple of gift certificates to Mario's and was disappointed both times. The massages were not good. Both times I ended up hurting more afterwards then before coming in. The facility is not clean and you end up sitting in a room beforehand in your robe with people you do not know. Very disappointing!

    Used Groupon for one night's stay of a 2 night weekend visit. My wife and I had a very relaxing weekend there, at dinner twice at restaurant and took advantage of spa treatment. Everything was good until checkout, there I noticed the bill was inaccurate and they didn't handle the Groupon correctly. Lady agreed with me and told she would handle and give me credit within 3 days. Been over a week and I have not received credit or notification from them. I'd avoid them at all costs. Also, supposed to be a Spa hotel, our shower head in our Spa bathroom was terrible so we requested new one or change of room and they replaced with cheap head from Lowe's.
