We had perfect skiing conditions! The trails are groomed and well-marked and designed for all levels of ability. It never felt crowded and the staff is friendly. Take your own lunch though as there is very little food to purchase. Last year we had some awesome chili and were expecting it again, but they didn't make any. Just snacks available. Fully staffed and equipped ski shop.

All of the cross country trails are well marked and groomed. The ski shop has all of the equipment you may need and has a professional staff.

Never enough time for Stowe's wonderful trails. Cold and windy in town and protected and delightful in the woods. Trails for all levels...just wonderful!

The touring center is gorgeous and with well prepared trails. You drive up to the Trapp Lodge (really a village) and well marked signs point you to the touring center. The trail maps are expansive and moderately well marked. (I would have liked to see a few green ribbons and blue ribbons on trees just to confirm you were in the right direction as we had one person in the group who was 80)The trails were meticulously groomed and the rolling hills the perfect match for us. The staff are helpful and the center has a proper changing area and bathroom area as well as a place to purchase and lost items. The drive up the hill should not be tackled without a proper vehicle- though likely anyone traveling to this area would not try it anyway. Worth the views!

It was our first visit and we were quite impressed. The trails were lovely and well groomed; it helps to be there in great conditions, too. This is another place with lots of room and varied terrain. The suggested route from the person who sold us trail passes was super. Really pretty, really nice trails, really nice skiing. My only complaint (which would not keep me from returning) is that I would have liked to have had a warning that there is a section of trail where the downhill skiers and snowboarders get dumped in! We were taken by surprise (scary!) as they whooshed up upon us from behind. Fate always makes it happen that everyone hits this same spot at the same time... anyway, it would not have seemed so surprising if only I had known. Be forewarned. Also be forewarned that the trail fees here are pretty much double from anywhere else. It's nice skiing but not any nicer than anywhere else.

My husband and I had a lesson with Peter, a fantastic teacher. He was so enthusiastic about the sport and he really knows how to explain technique and be encouraging at the same time. We learned a lot, went out againthe next day and we will be back. Everyone here was so friendly and the ski trails are just beautiful.

We lucked out with the weather. We went the day after a fresh snowfall, and although it was really cold, there was no wind, the sun was out and the sky was blue. The trails had all been freshly groomed. There were miles and miles of trails! It was easy to rent the ski gear (GREAT quality and new models), and got good recommendations in the ski center on where we should go for our experience level. It was a fantastic, fantastic day!

Super instructors. Good equipment. Well groomed trails. Wish main little lodge was much bigger and plusher.

This isn't the place to go for perfect skating conditions. For classic, though, it has the best trails, topography and beauty. It's run well and has a casual atmosphere. Too expensive for what it is, but it's a great place.

Total newbie to c-c skiing. Selection of trails seemed good. I stuck to Sugar Road to gain confidence

The trail-system at Stowe Mountain Resort is perfectly maintained by professionals who care about every detail to insure a quality x-c experience every time.

The touring center may be small but it has everything you need - friendly personnel, a wood burning stove, clean bathrooms and a full range of equipment, incidentals and beverages. Even great maps of the whole Stowe area!

To be fair, the new snow made conditions perfect. The trails were laid out well to allow both a novice or more experienced recreational skier many hours of fun in the valley or surrounding ridges. Well groomed for classic Nordic or skating. The beautiful stream(s) added to the esthetics, with bridges that were wide and substantial. All in all, a very thoughtfully designed trail system that rambles easily. The warming hut is spartan, with no heat source when we were there mid-week.The narrow and beautiful Classic trail reminded me of groomed trails in the 1970's when even a mild downgrade could be challenging. Check it out!

We spent two days cross country skiing out of this touring center. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. There are a variety of trails at a number of levels and you can ski over to the Trapps trails if you want. The trails are well-maintained and there are skinny "classic" trails as well. A "don't miss" in Stowe.
