This was my first visit to the 'other' store and was surprised at the size and items available. We were traveling down I91 and did not want to spend the extra 30 minutes to go off route. Perhaps a Friday night visit is not the best time, but to me it seemed like this store did not have the friendly staff as the other. The prices are high, you should expect that, but the selection is great and the fixtures are a hoot to see.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting us on your way home from Skiing! We trust that you have had a great skiing season this year, with all of the snow that we have had here in Vermont....We are delighted that you are enjoying our samples of the cheeses, meats, dips, fudge and snacks! We have just added a new addition to our cheeses, that it fabulous! It is the Saint Angel Triple Crème, which has the texture of chilled, whipped butter, with a buttery flavor too, and the right amount of salt, with a somewhat strong tang (especially by the rind), and a hint of earth and white mushroom. Try it next time that you are in! See you soon- Deane

We've been to the Big One before it grew too big, but this store was "a find" and we very much enjoyed our stop, on the way back home after being on the Chester railroad ride. It has the cozy atmosphere we well recall of the store in Weston before it became the tourist trap it now is. Here in Rockingham, the store offerings are fine, and we were able to get a light lunch at a stand in front of the store (including ice cream!), and ate at a picnic table on the lawn.

My family and I make a point of visiting the VT County Store a couple of times a year when we wish to take a walk down memory lane and/or take in their seasonal offerings. We also very much enjoy checking out their unique health and beauty aids, winter clothing or just stocking up on the delicious, unique goodies for serving guest or for gifts. The VT Country Store does not skimp on tastings which is a great way to be introduced to local cheeses, dips, crackers, etc.,that you may not necessarily splurge on otherwise. And please note that I do not use the word "splurge" lightly, you will definitely be paying a surcharge for the convenience and uniqueness of each product. If you find that there are items you really like, check the internet for other outlets before you buy. In addition, be sure to get on their mailing list as their mail order catalogue business often offers free shipping. I would also recommend checking out "Smokin' Bowls" soup stand about a mile out from the store. They offer tremendous soups and sandwiches if you want to fill your belly quickly with hardy, quality food. In conconclusion, a fun destination, but be prepared to spend...it's almost impossible not to!

Nice to visit at least once in your life. Large variety of items for both young and old. Fun to see some vintage items but much of it is way overpriced.

They have a lot of interesting items along with some good cheeses and other food items. Very pricey but that didn't seem to bother most folks. Friendly staff. Nice stop if you are in the aea.

Interesting store with lots of food items including dip mixes, crackers, fudge, many samples available. Also some hard to find woolen items for cold outdoor living.

Just pulling into the parking lot next to the covered bridge you feel yourself smile and relax. For the next hour or so you will get to sample some delicious fudge, cheese, crackers, sauces, dips and spreads. Walking on the hardwood floors you feel old Vermont everywhere. You can buy long lost loved toys, handmade gifts of sweaters, socks, mittens, soaps and beautiful lotions and cozy sleepwear. There is something for everyone. The candy area is amazing and the selection of tried and true products that stand the test of time is endless. Our kids have grown up going here and they still try to stop by when in the area. We go out of our way to get up there. It is a fun place to spend quality time with family. Take the time to get to the store, you won't regret it.

We had been told that we HAD to come here to experience Vermont. Not so!! Go to one of the sweet, little country stores that each village has instead. Way overpriced on everything. But was interesting to walk around and look at things, the variety is amazing.
