The people at Lajoie stables are very accommodating and ensure that everyone's riding experience is a good one. We were a family of 6 and each one of us were taking good care of. The scenery as you ride through the mountains is breathtaking and it will always be a good memory for my family and I....thank you Lajoie Stables.

My wife and I enjoy taking 1 hour horseback rides when we vacation in rugged mountainous areas. This experience ranked right up there with the best. Our guide was very pleasant and provided us with insight into the general area. The horses were well behaved and we saw some wild turkeys. The owner of the stable is a hoot, and they even happily loaned us gloves and my wife a heavier jacket as we came underdressed for a chilly October day.

My daughter and I went horseback riding 3x in a row (if we would have had more time we would have gone even more). The place is amazing: lots of animals - donkeys, geese, chicken, roosters, the cutest dogs ever and of course many horses. The guides were all very friendly and capable - first time ever that i really relaxed on a horse:-). The land is beautiful, and we will definitely go again next time we are in the area!

We took a family "hay ride " although there was no hay (or allergies) Our driver and his assistant (his wife) were a joy they were witty yet actually were very informative of the local area. They even let my boys sit up front and let the elder boy hold the reigns a real treat for him. (bragging rights ) The ride meandered through the woods and if you are quick you will see their wit as hidden in the trees are various humorous signs that had us in stitches once we discovered them. The cost was reasonable and even worth a tip

We had a great time! I went with friends and this was great way to spend time together as a group. The staff was friendly and the horses were well kept. The only drawback for me as an experieinces rider is that you have to ride to the lowest level..If you want more advanced trip go with experienced riders.

This is a great experience for your vacation. The staff was awesome, and our guide was the perfect choice. We rode through their beautiful property while getting some background on the farm. The horses are well cared for and are able to roam throughout the property freely. We came upon clusters of horses grazing and milling about. Wonderful atmosphere!

I already can't wait to go back! My husband and I were on our honeymoon and decided to go horse back riding. We researched places near our resort in advance and this one came up. Seemed nice enough from what I saw on their website so I called with a few additional questions about booking. The woman I spoke to was very nice and helpful. It's an hour and a half personal tour. You don't get stuck with random strangers, just your own party and the tour guide. Our guide was a very nice young lady who was extremely knowledgeable and understanding with regards to my husband who had never ridden a horse before. The horses too were wonderful! My husband's horse in particular had such a cute personality, I think the two of them share a sense of humor! They were gentle, well behaved horses. The scenery and wildlife were outstanding! My husband wasn't so sure how he felt about horse back riding initially but now it's all he can talk about. Oh also, our tour guide was kind enough to take photos of the two of us on the horses so we can add them to our honeymoon album. If you're looking for the perfect place to ride horses, look no further!!!

It was a nice diversion and a great family way to see a little of Vermont's beauty. Experienced or novice, there's a place for everyone here. The horses are very well treated and not over worked, Our tour guide Mark is a local and he knows his area history. I recommend a longer ride and make sure to dress appropriately. Helmets are provided if wanted and a must for minors. Cute petty zoo too.

We sort of hastily booked our trail ride the night before but we were not disappointed in the least. The location of the farm is a little out of the way but well worth the trip. The land is absolutely enormous and gorgeous. The folks running the stables that day were extremely friendly and have two of the coolest dogs around. The selection of horses for riding is vast so they have something for everyone. All of the horses seemed pretty mellow and used to all kinds of people riding them. The equipment provided to us was in good shape and it seems like they take safety seriously. Once we were all on our horses and given a brief tutorial we were off. They seem to keep groups together based on who you came with. Other families arrived at the same time we did but we got our own tour guide. Our leader was very friendly and took us on an hour and half journey around the property. The scenery is just breathtaking and I imagine it only gets better in the fall and winter. Throughout the ride we saw turkeys, deer, and various loose horses. I would absolutely return in the winter if given the opportunity for one of their sleigh rides.

We recently visited these stables for a 1-1/2 hr trail ride. It was a very nice experience for all of us. The scenery was great, the horses were nice and our guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the stable and about the area in general. It was a nice way to get out into the countryside. I'll bet that the trail rides during the fall must be spectacularly colorful. There are sleigh ride available during the winter which we might try the next time we're up at Stowe for skiing.

Had such an amazing time @ Lajoie! I haven't been on a horse since I was a child. You're greeted at the door by the friendly and knowledgeable staff and their puppies. All of the animals are beautiful and well cared for, the scenery is amazing for and there's even a petting zoo! Definitely a must see and very reasonable!!!Deb C

What a pretty drive from Stowe mountain lodge to get to the stables. A really great group of people who run it. We loved our horses, Sugar, Leo & Lukas as well as our guides. Beautiful scenery through the ride. A great activity for a break from skiing. They have a cute farm too with different animals. Don't miss it!

When we visited Lajoie we had a great time. My boyfriend has never gone horseback riding and he really enjoyed the experience. Their horses are very well taken care of, their property is gorgeous and the staff is very friendly!
