Great adventure. Ken is a great guy and a very calm and patient. He explains everything about dog sledding while he hooks up the dogs. You get to meet and greet with the pups while he casually gets everything ready. When he starts hitching the dogs, you will likely get the pleasure of hearing them all howl in unison - a real dog song. Dress appropriately. Staying warm will be key. Dress right and you'll have a ball.

Our family went to Vermont for the holidays and we had made plans to do several different activities for the kids while there. Dog sledding was an afterthought on the itinerary as we were not familiar with this experience. Out of all the things we did, the kids loved this the most! It was a perfect ending to our trip. Would you go diving with Jacques Cousteau? Gorilla watching with Jane Goodall?? Bird watching with David Sibley?? If you answered "yes" to any of these, then dogsledding with Ken Haggett at PeacePups in Elmore, Vermont is a "must" for you. If your idea of a great "attraction" is the shark tank at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas (nothing bad about the Tank), then forget it. This is the real deal. Read the other reviews - it truly is a lifetime experience. We reserved three toboggan sleds for the day after Christmas 2014. Snow in Vermont was "iffy" at best but Ken and his crew got out the day before our sledding and worked the trail so we could still go. From the moment you show up, the whole experience is wonderful. Each of the dogs( Siberian Huskies) is introduced by Ken with name and a bit of history about each (we had three sleds at eight dogs per sled so we went through 24 dog introductions!) Each dog is unique and their love and respect of Ken (and vice versa) is readily apparent. On our day we had Ken and two other drivers both of whom were equally impressive. Part of the experience is watching while the dogs are given treats and a warm broth before their run. Ken explains the sleds and their operation. Any questions are answered. You can interact with the dogs as you chose. The dogs are selected for each team and harnessed. We were privileged to have a full display of their enthusiasm - "singing" Ken calls it - as they were harnessed for the ride. It is a 5 mile trail and the actual run takes about an hour. Pretty New England woods. Plan on a full two hours for the getting acquainted time and sledding itself. The tour meets mid-way between Elmore, Vermont and Worcester, Vermont on Route 12. Ken sets out a purple Peacepups flag to mark the spot. You won't miss it. The cost is not inexpensive ($275 per sled) but Ken runs such a quality trip that I think you will feel the price was more than worth it.Practicals: allow a minimum of two hours. We were actually there about 2.5 hours. We booked the 12:00 time slot. It was PERFECT for this time of year - still light throughout the whole time and the "warmest" time of the day. Pay attention to the dress advisory. The location is about 30 minutes from Stowe and the same from Montpelier. Parking is limited. The trail and meeting place is in the woods - so don't anticipate restrooms, etc. Again, this is the real deal, not an amusement park. There is a weight limit per sled - about 375 pounds per sled. Ken is able to take credit cards for payment. Ken's website is very good and informative and he was easy to communicate with by email. PeacePups dogsledding is a WONDERFUL experience. I would not recommend this experience for children or others who do not like dogs, afraid of dogs or do not have respect for animals. I pride on doing things that many people have not done... dog sledding being one of them. Peace Pups made it a wonderful experience. We got to meet and play with the dogs before going on our wild adventure.

Ken was fantastic with my wife/our young husky (Maya) scootering lession! He really took the time to walk through all the details and when Maya was 'reluctantly' pulling Laura's scooter, Ken hooked up our mixed breed (Gabby) for a team try. Maya and Gabby took off fast down the dirt road. We had so much fun I failed to get any photo's of my wifes successful run with our own two dogs. Visiting Ken and Peace Pups is worth the trip. Hope to get back for some dogsledding in the near future. Visited in May 2012.

Peace Pups Dog Sledding was easily the best experience I have had!!! Ken was so friendly and informative, and his love for his dogs and what he does was moving. The pups were all friendly and just amazing. I would highly recommend Peace Pups to everyone! Everyone should feel the energy of the dogs while they are pulling a sled! Best time!

After getting to know Ken and the pups a bit over email and the internet, we traveled to Stowe from Atlanta for a few days with the main purpose being to go sledding with the team. We had such an amazing time the first day that we booked and came back two days later instead of skiing! My daughter was able to help harness "Pushy Prescott" - she will talk about this for years to come! The energy of the team and the beauty of the countryside is amazing. Ken's commitment to the environment is appreciated as well.

This was such an incredible experience, I highly recommend it to everyone! From the minute you arrive you can tell that Ken cares deeply for his dogs and for the craft. They aren't just a business to him, they are his family and that is evident. Upon arrival, my husband and I got to watch the dogs get harnessed up, and they couldn't wait to go, they were "singing" so loud. The ride itself is incredible, the view was amazing and the cart was very comfortable. Ken was very personable, he spent time during the ride talking about the dogs and graciously answering all my questions. When we got back we were allowed to hang out with the dogs and pet them. During our visit, we were lucky enough to have puppies too so we got to cuddle them as well. Then Ken brought us inside and showed us a great slideshow of how his he got started and information on the dogs and sledding. This is absolutely well worth the price, I cannot express enough that this is a must do!
