We are in Ft. Lauderdale for vacation from Spain and I enrolled my son in this camp for a week, and he cannot wait to go again next week. The counselors are really fun and energetic and he has learned a lot about helping the sea turtles and protecting the environment all while learning water sports and having a great time. We will definitely come back again!

Funky Fish Kids Day is absolutely the best way to celebrate your child's birthday! All their instructors are fantastic, the way they explain everything, even if your child has never been snorkeling before, they are put completely at ease. We can't say enough, except your child will have an awesome party that they and their friends we always remember! They also have a camp that is just as amazing too!

We are visiting from Ireland and my 8 year old had a ball at this camp! It is a great mix of crafts ( making tie dye t shirt and bandana is so Floridian - brilliant!) , information about the ocean and sealife (I am getting little snippets of info and I say where do you hear that - at Funky Fish is the reply) and also , obviously water based sports. The only mistake I made was I had other things booked to do before I discovered Funky Fish -otherwise we would have been there every day. I went on the snorkel boat ride with them on Friday. It was really amazing! The staff are all fun and friendly - and very professional in how they managed the various personalities in their groups! Great week- I could lie on the beach every morning and read and know my son was safe , closeby having fun with kids his own age!

My 9 yo son has ADHD & mild autism. Sarah assured me that the program was appropriate for him, and it definitely was. This was the 1st time EVER that I felt comfortable just dropping him off somewhere for the day w/o staying with him. He had a great time snorkeling in the pool. Waves were too choppy for ocean snorkeling so they learned boogie boarding. They also made a tie die shirt. They even called me just to let me know that he wouldn't eat the pizza lunch. The instructors were nice. My son had a blast! He will do this every time we visit the area. Well worth the money.

We were in Florida for 10 days. I found this place on TripAdvisor and called about our second day into the trip or so to make a reservation. Finally got a call back two days before we were leaving. She was booking for just one of the days we had left because no other kids signed up yet. She was also offering just one of the 4 versions on her site. As this was not my kids first choice, I said that I need to ask them first and call her right back. She replied that I either book that very moment or she is done for the day. The kids were in the back seat of the car so this was literally a matter of 2 minutes. There was clicking of pots in the background and it was 7:26 PM. All together it was very strange. I will not trust someone like this with my children.

We came down to Fort Lauderdale for spring break. My wife and I look forward to the pool, beach, and our favorite restaurants. We were looking for something a little different/extra for our kids and we found it with Funky Fish Kids Day ocean camp. I have two children, 6 and 8, and they were a little nervous before hand. However, when we picked them up, they asked if they could come the next day. They loved it! They met new friends and really connected with the Funky Fish kids day instructors (they were great!) They made a craft, played some beach games and tried a little snorkeling and boogie boarding...definitely things they can't do back in Indiana, and certainly nothing I could show them. This was a hit, and when we make it back to Fort Lauderdale, this will be a priority to let them do a another day.

My 3 children (now 6, 8, and 10) couldn't wait to return to Funky Fish after the great time they had last year. Once again, the program outdid itself. The kids went snorkeling, boogie boarding, swimming, made cool craft projects and learned about the ocean. As we were turning into the resort, my youngest said, "I am so happy, I have tears of joy." We are headed back again today. The owner of the outfit is highly dedicated to children's learning, providing a safe and wonderfully engaging ocean experience. Take your kids to Funky Fish camp for a truly wonderful experience!

Initially I had my reservations like all moms we tend to be more cautious esspecially with water activities. From the moment I stepped into the office to visit with my 5 yr old, my instincts and guy told me she was in love with all the activities. It was a great way for get to meet other little funky fish campers and explored different water activities. ie: Boogie Board, skim boarding, snorkeling, tie dying. We will definitely come back again and recommend to others.

I have 3 kids: 11, 9 and 4. I was looking for something fun for the kids to do while we were in Fort Lauderdale. This camp was excellent! They had such and amazing time. It definately exceeded expectations. The staff was easy to deal with and attentive with the children. Safety was a priority when dealing with the water and activities. Thank you so much! I would recommend anyone to try. Thanks again...The Boomers

Funky Fish Kid camp is a great camp in Fort Lauderdale.I have 3 kids: 8 yrs. old boy and 6 yr. old and 4 yr. old girls. They have never snorkeled before and had a great day at camp with Alex and Sarah (Camp counselors). We called several weeks prior to inquire about the program. Sarah, the owner, was prompt in responding to my messages and answered all my questions. Prior to arriving, I felt secure and assured that my children would be taken care of well. Once we arrived, there were 2 counselors to meet and greet us, including Sarah, the owner. They discussed the plans for the day and went over the rules. My children are very active children that were given a wonderful snorkeling opportunity.

My daughter heard a lot about this camp and waited for it for a long time. I reserved all 5 days of our vacation 2 weeks before our trip, but never got the confirmation. Upon arrival I called to the camp and they could not tell me is it going to be the same day or other one - apparently they didn't have enough kids for the camp. Finally I got a phone call one hour later and came out the program is going to be at Bahia Mar, but not at Residence Inn by Marriott at Pompano Beach (we stayed close by). It took me 25 min and $25 to get there. Camp itself was really nice, my daughter really enjoined it. The next morning my daughter experienced a light fever so we decided not to go to the camp. I've made a phone call at 9:00 am (camp starts 10:00 -10:30) to tell them we are not coming. 4 days later a got the e-mail... They charged me for 2 days of camp, not for the only one my child attended (they took my credit card details). They told they got my message too late (after lunch), but I've noticed the parent of another child that we are not coming early morning.

We recently took a week long family vacation to Fort Lauderdale this past March 27 - April 3, 2013. We decided to stay at Bahia Mar for several reasons due to location (walk to everything, price, convenience, etc... it was a great choice...a lot of higher priced resorts were so overcrowded, etc,). Anyway, what also drew us to the Bahia Mar was the Funky Fish Kids Camp. Our family LOVED it!!! Sarah who runs the program...& her employees...we mostly had Alex, John, & Heather & the other camp counselors were FANTASTIC!!! Our kids are a 13 yr. old daughter & a 6 yr. old son who both equally enjoyed the camp very much...snorkling, skim boards, boogie boards, jewelry making, tie dyes, etc...they were either on the beach or at the hotel pool. The camp overall just has a really nice way about it...all children are made to feel very welcome & involved in a fun & educational atmosphere. My instincts told me that my kids were in very good hands while away from us. The time betwen 10 & 3 was really great for my husband & I to have "OUR TIME!" Our kids attended for 5 out of the 7 days for our trip & it worked out just perfect for all of us! It allowed for a great combination of both family time & free time. THANK YOU SO MUCH FUNKY FISH CAMP!!! :) :) :)The Colt Family (Forest Hill, Maryland)

My two girls, ages 13 and 9 attended the Funky Fish Kids Day program on 2/16. They are still talking about it today. They learned how to snorkel in the resort pool before going into the nearby ocean. They raved about the lunch which was included. They were so impressed by the whole day.The made their own Funky Fish tie-dyed shirts - which are a great reminder of the fun day they spent in Ft. Lauderdale. For parents - the price is very reasonable - I was actually surprised at how inexpensive it was.Highly Recommend!

My three children (ages 5, 7, and 9) went to funky fish and they had the most fabulous day! The program runs from 10-2:45 and they engage the children the entire time! It starts out with tie dying t-shirts (the shirts actually came out great). Then they worked with the kids in the pool to teach them how to snorkle. There are 6 levels and they work through each one of them, moving the children along as they master the skills. Then they serve the kids pizza lunch, have a lesson about the fish in the ocean and teach the kids ways to take care of the ocean and respect the wildlife. Next, they headed to the ocean for skim boarding, boogie borading, and snorkeling. The kids had a fabuolous time and couldn't wait to go back the next day. BTW-the staff child ratio is very low and the counselors are careful to take great care of the children...they even have them put sunscreen on every hour and make sure to seat them in the shade when possible. A high recommend!
