amazing exotics

Approx 90 mins from Orlando is Amazing Exotics, a small sanctuary of amazing animals; lions, tigers, panthers, chimps to name a few. Only a small group of people are shown around by a knowledgeable guide each day. We got really close to all the animals on our tour and learnt all about them which was brilliant.We paid extra and sat in a room where Lemurs jumped all over us and we cuddled a baby monkey.Brilliant.Then the adults in our group smoothed an 18 month old Tiger. Again brilliant.We have been to Florida 7 times and done all the usual parks etc, but our day at Amazing Exotics was fantastic and one of the best things we have done. Well worth the money as you can see its helping the rescued animals.

I came across Amazing Exotics while looking for something new for may family to do on a recent trip to Florida. My husband was hesitant at first, but upon some coaxing from me and my 11 yo son, he agreed to go. I was a bit nervous as I didn't really know what to expect. We entered the long driveway and I must say that I began to have second thoughts. The place really didn't look like much and it was going to be expensive. Still, we proceeded on with our plans. After signing our life away (literally), we started our tour. Our guide was very knowledgable. About 10 minutes into the tour, I began to relax. Everyone was laughing and enjoying themselves. (Myself, my husband, my two boys ages 11 and 3 and my fil and his wife). The tour was unlike anything we had done before. You are within arms length of the cages and the animals interact with the guide. It is apparent there is a lot of trust there. One of my personal favorites was a rare "tabby" tiger. After the tour, my oldest son and I went into a room to have our encounter with two monkeys. This was the highlight of our trip and definately worth the extra money. We got to spend about 45 minutes interacting with the monkeys. We fed them grapes and they climbed all over us. We each brought our cameras in to take pictures. It is an experience we will never forget. The next time you are in Florida, be sure to look this place up. It is definately one of Florida's hidden treasures.

This was a one of a kind day. It is rather expensive but worth doing the safari. it was a 3 hour tour. the best is the hands on with the monkeys and cougar. the staff is knowledgable and you feel safe. great time cuddling with monkeys and amazing to be petting a cougar. bring your camera for sure! great to celebrate a special occasion. nowhere to eat or shop on site. educational and an amazing experience!
