So this garden is not where the GPS says it will be and it was also a mile away from it. It did take me a couple of u turns to get to this place. once i got there, i wanted to walk around the garden. To my disappointment, there were no clearly marked trails and I did end up walking up on trail which led to a private property of a neighbor. Overgrown, not really maintained, not marked, no clear signs on where to go. If you have a lot of time at your disposal and are willing to explore an unmarked path, this attraction may be an option for you. Only a few parking spots.

This is an 8 acre Preserve managed by Florida Trusts Commission. It protects the Florida Gopher Turtle. Although there are 5 parking spaces, one of which is for disabled, the trail is not manageable by disabled people, in my opinion. The trail from South Peninsula Drive to the Halifax River, is about a half mile. It is rough & sandy & leads to a wooden, well maintained boardwalk. The boardwalk takes you through typical central Florida vegetation, and to a mangrove wetland, leading to a floating dock, which could be used by canoe enthusiasts or kayakers. There are no restrooms and no cost to this preserve. It is a pleasant walk where you may see a variety of tree birds, wetland birds, lizards, and Fl black snakes.
