the shim sham room

I am a local and this was the 2nd time we tried this place. 1st time was so so but we said let's try the Shim Sham Room again. Well we went in, stood at bar for 10 mins while bartender made drinks for his friends but totally ignored my wife and myself. Not that I am hard to miss at a bar being 6'3" tall but amazingly this bartender blew past us at least 8 times. Then it looked like a manager came over to the bar for what we thought to help out but to our surprise he helped pour a drink for a girl that he was all over.... Finally tried one more time to get a drink and bartender just walked by to pour a drink for 3 of his close friends who amazingly never pulled out a credit card or cash to pay for the drinks and shots. After a fun and amazing 15 mins of watching ever friend of the bartender and manager get a drink we packed it up and left to go to the Ritz where you will get unreal service. On the way out I told the 2 bouncers they have at the door that they might want to tell the manager only friends of the bartender were getting service. Then I guess the bouncer thought that was not a very nice comment and moved towards me quickly when I quickly let him know he was about to touch a law enforcement officer and he magically ran back to the door.... If you are a cool hipster and know the bartender and manager you will love this place. If you are a local who just likes to have a good drink and enjoy the vibe, skip this spot for sure. Go to the Ritz or the Brix or Wine Bar for good service.

Great handcrafted cocktails and the mini burgers and the chicken & waffles were insanely good! I was also very impressed with the service and atmosphere... A definite must visit if you are out at the beach!

Four of us stopped by randomly and we ended up really liking it. Clean, fast service. Prices were reasonable. They didn't have my drink of choice but bartenders (Joshua and Tyler) went out of their way to make us happy. We had the tator tots and chicken and waffles, great for bar food. The upstairs opens later at night, a little strange a creepy for my taste but I would still return.
