We rented bicycles this week and had such a great experience with the staff, we came back 3 days later to rent a kayak! We took the bikes to the Pinellas Trail, and the guys gave us a tip to drive over to Walsingham Park and take the trail from there. Bike racks, locks, helmets are INCLUDED in the price - they couldn't have been more accommodating to us, really!then, we rented the kayak and spent 4 hours on the channel. Again, they gave us a tip to paddle against the current to start, and then when we're a bit tired, "ride" the tide back in. We even spent 2 extra hours on the water than we expected, since we had such a great time. We saw tons of birds, including a next of great blue herons with 2 fledglings. Momma came over and fed them in front of us! We would not have seen this from anywhere else but the kayak. I would return to Island Marine again and again. All of the guys were fantastic! one suggestion ... they might want to draw up a crude map of the channel w/ approximate distances or suggested time to paddle to/from, just so that you know where you are. (esp. for beginners, like us!)

We rented the small Hurricane (we were only 2 people) for 3 hours to take out on the InterCoastal Channel. From the beginning, it was a great experience - thorough briefing and <training>....amazing support, i.e. GPS to plot your course. They supply coolers for lunch and drinks. We were a little nervous about docking - it was very windy and we are not experienced boaters - they came out to help us. I would highly recommend this place for customer service and an all-around excellent experience - we'll do again next year.

Visited area middle of jan. 2015 from Michigan & looked into renting boat. Couple options on google search & called here to check availability & how busy. Was great to work with due to scheduling later in week & was not going to be locked in if weather turned. Rented pontoon for 6hrs, Was great start to finish, trained us on rules & gave map to where to go as well as GPS on boat. loaded our stuff on boat & off we went, Had our own Dolphin show-kids loved it! Gas prices very reasonable. Appears rents everything from paddle boards, scooters, bikes, boats & ? Would go back for sure Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have rented kayaks on our last 2 trips to the area - lots of fun and a great workout. 2 hours is perfect. Either direction along the inter-coastal is scenic. Singles are easier than doubles in my opinion, but it depends on your preference. Will be back again in April.

We rented a 19' Hurricane deck boat for the second time and had a great experience. We saw about 12 dolphins and a Sea turtle in our short trip up to clearwater beach and back.It cost about $37 in gas for this trip. They gave us another card for 1 free hr boat rental. This is a fantastic deal.Behind the counter guy is friendly ,knowledgeable and accomodating.Great place to rent a boat!!

We mad reservations yesterday for a 10AM departure. We were told to arrive 1/2 hour ahead of time for a checkout video and a tour of the boat. We rented a 22 foot pontoon boat and everything worked as expected. All safety gear was available for 12 people, even though we were only a party of 5. We were met at the car by a staff member and a cart to carry all of our stuff from the car to the boat. When we were finished our cruise, they met us at the dock with a cart to carry our stuff back to the car. They gave us a briefing of where we could go along the inter-coastal waterway.. Everyone were pleased and impressed with the professionalism.

We had a family holiday with our grown-up children and their partners. They struggle for ideas for presents so they thought of renting a boat for the day. The booking was made from the UK via the internet. Island Marine Rentals were very flexible about which day new selected as they advised us to check the weather before we decided on the day.Our route planning to get to Indian Shores was not good and we arrived nearly 40 minutes late. There was no one booked after our hire, so they just 'slid us back an hour'.Very through briefing to help us navigate safely, extremely helpful staff loading and unloading the boat. Free use of their ice boxes (ours was not big enough to hold all the beet and soft drinks). We had the most fantastic time and when you calculate the cost per person to rent and fuel the boat it was not expensive. To be honest,. I would have through renting a boat for the day was prohibitively expensive, but how wrong I was.Really, really helpful staff made a perfect day for us all. Thanks to everyone at Island Marine Rentals.Only one thing to note - it is about a further 20 minutes on from Clearwater - and the number 20045 gives an idea how long Gulf Boulevard is. But what fantastic houses along the way!!!

On passing 1 day we enquired about price availability etc.We were swiftly shown round the craft available so we told him we would be back later that day let our friends see the boats ,we chatted and decided we would call back next morning and take a 16ft craft out .Next morning on arriving we were informed the 16ft boat was away on a 8 hr hire so we swithered then the guy we were dealing with said you can have 24ft boat at the same money as we only wanted 2hrs hire (brilliant)then we had the pleasure of using professional guys running the show ,they explained all about the rules on the water what to look out for all the nice spots if we wanted to anchor up .We had hired a boat couple of days before from their rivals and the service and state of the boat was terrible no sat nav no depth finder terrible steering and twice the price.I would never look anywhere else for boat hire than with these guys .Thank you from a very happy and satisfied Scottish customer who visit Florida every vacation.

We rented a pontoon boat from Neil at Island Marine Rentals during our vacation in Clearwater Beach and it was beyond our expectations! We had a party of 10 that included 6 kids (ages 3 to 14) and Island Marine was helpful in everyway! When we showed up we were immediately greeted by a boat hand that unloaded our entire car and wheeled it to our boat. We went inside and were greeted with another friendly smile and hello and filled out all of the paperwork etc.. Once on the boat we were given very detailed information on the boat and operating it. It was very thorough and very helpful. We set off on our journey heading North to see the beautiful scenery of Caladessi Island and three Ruckers Island which is a barren natural island perfect for shelling and exploring! We stopped at a great Fish Taco Restaurant that Neil back at Island Marine had recommended. It was awesome to pull right up to a dock at the restaurant and hop off for lunch. We made it to Ruckers Island and were enjoying our trip when all of a sudden we realized that the tide had started going out and we needed to push back or risk being beached. Well, unfortunately, we ended up being beached on a deserted island and had to call back to Island Maine to let them know, that we needed help:) Neil was awesome and told us it was no problem and they would be out to help us as soon as they could. We sat and waited patiently enjoying the beauty of the island and witnessing the most beautiful sunset! Neil and his Dad showed up and we were rescued:) We again were greeted with friendly smiles, and warm hellos and immediately we all felt at ease. We felt awful that we had to inconvenience Neil and his Dad and have them come out after their long day working. We felt really bad for his Dad because he had to stay with our beached boat until the tide came back in and he could unbeach the boat. That ended up being a long time--he returned back to the marina at 3:15 am:( Neil returned us to the marina at 9:30 and after a long day of exploring the beautiful waters of the area we were happy to on dry land and feed the kids! Neil never once seemed put out or annoyed with us, and instead made us feel like we were out on the boat for a really nice evening cruise with a friend. He even called his wife and asked her to have the bathrooms opened for us and our loading carts at the dock so we could unload quickly and use the facilities. We really appreciated his laid back attitude and friendly professional demeanor. We can't recommend Island Marine enough and even with out going above and beyond they were 5 star. I wish we could give them 10 stars!

We rented a 24' Tritoon for $300 for 10 hours and headed up to Three Rooker Island. Neil was unbelievably helpful in seeing to all our needs and answering all our questions, going above and beyond to help us have a great day fishing. The boat was fully stocked - cooler with ice ($2 / 8 lb bag), live/bait wells, music, bimini top, toilet - perfect for myself, husband and mother-in-law for a great day out. The island was gorgeous and I could have spent all week there. We saw lots of stingrays, and caught trout, barracuda, shark, lizardfish, catfish and sail catfish. We went for a swim at the island - the water was beautiful, clear and warm.We used 13 gallons of gas the whole day which cost $68 on top of the rental fee. We were all very happy with our experience and can't wait to do it again in the near future. I would recommend Island Marine Rentals to everyone!

We LOVE this place! Great service, tons of options to rent from kayaks to bikes to boats. My husband and I like to tandem kayak and they have the best prices that allow us to do it more frequently. You can get 10 hours of boat time for $399 that can be split up in multiple sessions - haven't found anywhere else that has these kind of deals. We wouldn't rent from anyone else!

The folks here made this a really pleasant rental experience. We took a deck boat out for two hours and cruised down the intracoastal to Johns Point at the drawbridge and boardwalk. The radio had a cable connection so we streamed music from an iphone to the boat’s speakers. All the possible trips were already in the GPS, which was helpful when we got down to Johns Pass, which had several little islands and sea grass areas to maneuver around. Another day we rented beach cruiser bikes from them and really enjoyed riding along the waves. The staff was very friendly and had a “no worries” attitude about whether we got back right on time. Pricing was very good here.
