Pickbent
This place has great quality food-best chile anywhere around here. Gazpacho soup. omelots, waffles, all kinds of sandwiches and usually at least one or two hot meal entrees every day as well as other varied specials. I especially enjoy sitting outside in front at one of their porch sheltered tables as I can bring my dog. The staff and owner and regular customers make for a convivial, informal atmosphere. Nobody is a stranger here for long!

This nice park is off A1A, the Old Dixie Highway, between Port Salerno and Hobe Sound. When you enter there is plenty of room for parking and some picnic tables. From there you can walk the one trail east through wetlands out to a very nice boardwalk and the Intracoastal Waterway. There is some wildlife and information panels along the way. Nothing spectacular, but a very nice way to spend a few hours, especially along the waterway. There are restrooms in the parking area and along the trail--no commercial establishments, so bring your own food and water. This is not a long walk, but sunscreen and insect repellant are a good idea.
