Awesome community theatre with lots of history (some haunted). Bay Street Players, all volunteers, put on a great show. Not a bad seat in the house. I watched my wife in Grease ten shows in a row.. And loved every performance! Ticket prices are very reasonable. The theatre is in a quaint location, downtown Eustis. A block from Ferran Park and Lake Eustis. Lots of good restaurants in walking distance. I highly recommend trying a show. You will come back for more.

Our first trip to this theater to see Rumors. It was the final performance weekend and the theater was not quite full. I am sure it was because of the Daytona race. The play was very well done and the acting was quite good. I like the seating arrangement. You really don't have a bad seat in this theater. The theater is home to the Bay Street Players who put on very well done performances. We will return to other plays.

Community Theatre with local talent and local directors is now the highlight of this once historically dynamic facility. The current seasons of shows include five Main Stage productions, Second Stage productions, and Youth Theatre. Bay Street Players is home to the longest consecutive running children's program in Central Florida. Faculty and Staff at the theatre take pride in the facility, and try to save and restore the building to preserve the history. The Historic State Theatre is located in a quaint downtown area, close to Ferran Park and many local restaurants.

The Historic State Theatre is currently home to the Bay Street Players who put on a lovely slate of shows each year geared mostly to families. Patrons are treated to free wine before shows in the Patron's Lounge, and everyone gets to know everyone else. It's a great place to view live theater and meet your neighbors. As with all community theater performances, some are spotty, especially since the actors are unpaid. They try though, and for the most part, they do a fine job. If you live in Lake County and enjoy live theater, you should definitely check out the Historic State Theatre, one of the 10 Most Haunted Sites in Florida! If you don't like live theater, you should still drop by. You may find the Bay Street Players give you a reason to keep coming back.Check out the local restaurants before the show. There's some great offerings in easy walking distance.

The State Theatre in Eustis a.k.a. Bay Street Players began in 1916. It served as a vaudeville theatre in the early days, in the 1950s evolved into a movie house, and in 1975 transitioned back to live theatre. They also have an active Young People's Theatre group. Plays are well received and supported by the community. The quality of the actors, set and staging is to be applauded and well worth a visit.

Great place to watch a play. Comfortable surroundings near some good restaurants for a preperformance dinner.

I have been to many plays in this historic theatre through the years. I have never seen but one that didn't please me. The sets are always outstanding and it is hard to believe the talent they find for the productions. I love the musicals they have yearly. The childrens theatre is another thing going for Bay Street. If you have never visited be sure and go in for a look around at the wonderfully restored theatre and check out the plays for the season. There is always one that will suit your fancy. Count on being surprised and happy with the performance.

Funny how people can drive by your business and never even know you exist. Such is the case with this fine, little, Production Co. located directly on Bay Street in the restored Downtown area. Invited by friends we had the pleasure of witnessing a Broadway Play right here in our neighboring community of Eustis, FL. This production was a cute little play called "Boeing Boeing", a play on words. Considering the plot was written around a American Businessman who courts 3 Airline Stewardess' all simultaneously~ boing, boing, boing each of them~ in/out of his apartment while skillfully managing the visits between flight schedules from his flat near the Orly Airport in Paris. There's only 6 actors (+understudy) in the play so, the action is swift and I'm sure it keeps the production budget manageable. Skillfully directed by James Meadows & Brendon Rogers the scenes moved quickly, on a 2 Act Play, that must have lasted just about 2 hours. Despite being a local production the effort gave you the impression they were ALL pro's...great dedication of Theatrical Arts so students and artists can practice their craft- entertaining you as they work their magic. If you're thinking 'high school play'~ wrong- there were 51 support people- many in attendance from Backstage Crew to Scene Designers to Lighting to Costumes, Ticket Takers and more.I left proud of the effort made and definitely 'entertained' . Hey for $21 a ticket- DEAL (slightly cheaper then Broadway, LOL). Noted as I left: The Marquee read "Peter Pan" featuring the Young People's Theatre division of the Bay Street Players. Bet that's a hoot. Try it..it's like going back to the charming 1950's. It all takes place in the very old Eustis State Theatre it's a DeJaVu trip anyhow. Kudo's to Liz Curtis, Paul Casteneda, Rick Paulin, Lauren Morgan, Bre Lewis and Kami Spaulding.
