Dunedin has an interesting history and this museum offers up close and personal items with just enough information to make it interesting. There are changing exhibits. It's located in the old train station (very well preserved) along the Pinellas Trail. Well worth the time.

If you are in Dunedin Florida and your spouse is shopping this is a nice place to visit. It gives a very good perspective on the history of Dunedin. It includes a "pram" a sailboat that could be built from plywood. The boat was a great project for fathers and sons to do together.

We took this Walk with the Director of the Museum starting around 5:30 p.m. It was perfect to view the sunset over Honeymoon Island, Caladesi Island and Clearwater. The Director of the Museum was fun, interesting and so knowledgeable about the history of Dunedin and all the spectacular homes on that historical Victoria Drive. This walk also included their Wine/Art Walk, which is held on every 2nd Friday of each month through March and then October to December. Most of the stores and restaurants are open until 8:30 and offer discounts and a free taste of wine or gourmet food. At the end you meet at a designated business to have a drawing for one of 5 bags worth over $150. We did not win but it was fun trying and enjoying the excitement with the crowd of participants. We don't know when they have this walk again, but information could be obtained from the Museum which is also a very nice attraction to visit. They do have a home tour and Christmas walk, which sounds wonderful and would be fun to experience.

What a delightful town! Its best asset, however, are its people, who give new meaning to the concept of charming. Can't wait to return.

This is a delightful little museum which strives to preserve a lot of local history. I particularly enjoyed the displays about the local yacht club and boat builders. It is beautifully cared for and housed in the old Railway Station right on Main Street.

Having grown up in Dunedin, and living here now, I am always interested in the many events and people of this city's past. Located in the former train station, the museum takes me back to my early years and well beyond. The exhibits are always interesting, entertaining, and informative. They feature special exhibits relating Dunedin to other communities' history. There's really more to see in the museum than one might think, and I always enjoy browsing through all the displays. It truly is a rewarding experience traveling through Dunedin's history, and the folks who operate this museum know how to make it interesting. The museum is located right along the Pinellas Trail on Main Street, and is in the heart of one of the most awesome small-city downtown areas you will find... with shops, restaurants, parks, and the marina all within a short walking distance.

A funny and interesting museum in a beautifully picturesque historical town with boutiques, restaurants, clubs, cafes, and a very nice marina.

This museum currently has a pirate exhibit from Key West on display. Pay the $2 donation fee to enter, you will enjoy this exhibit immensely. I always pop into this museum while visiting Dunedin, great place to visit & explore!!

Stopped in to look around and was surprised to see multiple exhibits that were very interesting. Pirate exhibit was fun and a comic book/super hero exhibit was a total surprise but we ended up in the museum for an hour! $2 entrance fee supports this spot and absolutely worth it!

The museum is not the Smithsonian it is a small local museum with lots of info pertaining to the origins of Dunedin and they also bring in exhibits from other museums. The displays always change so there is always something new to see. I live locally and go at least every couple of months just to see the new displays and support my local museum. A tour takes about a half an hour which is the perfect amount of time if you are waiting for a table at one of our great local restaurants.

Local history. Compact exhibits with the items on displat telling the stories vs lots of words. Offers walking tour of Dunedin and even a special strreet one night a month on the sound that has not changed much since 1880. It has a Chapel bult a hundred years ago available for weddings in an exclusive Florida Hammock natural setting. Go visit often as exhibits change sesonally.

An interesting little museum. Lots of interesting local displays and we learned a lot about the history of this special town. Staff was very nice and helpful. Always nice to understand the beginnings of a town. Small, but packed full.

This small museum seems to have a rotation of displays. The day we were there, they were putting up a pirate display. Also, a college group had a great display about beers. Nice collection of toys, and a good video about Honeymoon Island.,

Great way to learn about Dunedin and also do some Christmas shopping. Many family members received items purchased at the DHS&M
