The guide was fun and informative. He taught my daughter some faboulous facts about marine biology. We saw the Moss man, alligators, turtles, birds, etc. We loved the information.

My daughter and I took this trip on a spur of the moment basis. My father had lived in DeLeon Springs for a year in the forties, and always talked about fishing here. It was wonderful to get out on the boat and see all the wildlife. This is "Old Florida" at its best. I felt like I could have been my dad all those years ago, watching all the gators basking in the sun. We saw at least six different large birds, egrets, herons, cormorants, even an anhinga sunning itself to dry. If you want the best wildlife viewing, go earlier in the day. The guide is knowledgeable, and very interested in getting you to see the gators. While you are at the park, you can swim in the springs and dine at the famous pancake restaurant, take a short walk on a nature trail. Lots of locals have found this place. Why not make a fun family day of it?

My mum and dad booked us on this trip on a day trip to the park. Great fun! We went out on the boat and saw herons, egrits, hawks, Floridian Vultures, coots, moorhens, loads of fish and best of all - in all my trips to Florida I saw my first real live, wild alligators! Lots of them!! The boat guide was useful and informative, and could spot a bird or alligator before anyone else on the boat! Would highly recommend this 50 minute boat trip to anyone in the area. For the record, I get quite travel sick, but these boats were so smooth on the shallow water that I didn't feel queasy once so please don't let the fact its on water put you off!! The park is a great place to visit overall, with nature walks (some throughreally wild parts with the permission of the ranger), a natural springs pool (with a shallow area for the little ones), options for diving under the Florida shelf, boating / canoeing etc. I would love to come back and spend the full day here.
