cassadaga spiritualist camp

I live within driving distance of Cassadaga and have been twice before with friends. It's basically a small street with some interesting shops and of course, the pull of psychics. The last time I was there I saw Byrdie who was absolutely INCREDIBLE! She connected with my grandmother and mentioned many names that were right on with the things that she said. Even things that I couldn't place at the time fit when I listened to the tape recently. With that said, I was excited to go back and bring along a friend for her first visit and I unfortunately could not get a hold of Byrdie so we went with Dr. James Thomas after he was able to accommodate us that day. My first went first and then it was my turn. Upon meeting him, he made me fill out a form with my name, address, birthday (easy to gauge based on astrological sign) and contact info which seemed odd. He showed me a picture of "spirit" and then a printed piece of paper with 8 spirits that he would try to communicate with for me. He held my hand and the information started. My grandmother told my "Indian Doctor" that she was very worried about my health and that my thyroid was out of whack along with a bacterial infection (he later tried to sell me on calling a fellow psychic who could "cure" my thyroid issues). Then he continued about my PH being off and how it needed to be a 7.2, and I needed to eat more greens, and not to do anything 52 days before my birthday. The time was over and I felt disappointed but wrote my check and left. Well later that afternoon over lunch, my friend and I are talking and she states that is getting a big green salad because she needs to get more greens and get her pH to a 7.2. I acted surprised and asked her what else he told her...oh you know, not to do anything 52 days before her birthday, that she was having thyroid issues, etc. Her "child spirit" was Isabelle and mine was Annabelle. Her "Indian Doctor" was John Goodfellow and mine was James Goodman. I acted excited for her because I didn't have the heart to tell her that this man completely shafted both of us especially since she was comforted that he "connected with her deceased father". Once we parted, I called the bookstore and got advice to contact him and that you can request a refund (future notice, you can leave your reading). I expressed to her that at the time I thought I was getting legitimate information, not recycled material he just used on my friend. I called Dr. Thomas and expressed my concerns and low and behold, he STILL cashed my check the next day. I wrote a letter to the bookstore hoping that it would be addressed because it's not about the money but rather the fact that he is abusing what gifts he may have instead of diminishing a reading if he didn't feel a connection. There are MANY, wonderful, gifted, legitimate psychics at Cassadaga including the one I mentioned earlier but Dr. Thomas is NOT IT. Oh, and I got my thyroid checked for $100 and my levels are perfectly normal. Sorry "Grandma".

I have no idea what took me so long to write this (I thought I had). Two years ago I met with Doreen. All I told her was I had a small bladder. She knew where I was from, what I did for a living, that I rarely settle anywhere for long, and completely predicted the man I'm now engaged to. She was so kind and absolutely lovable. And she is the REAL DEAL! Find her at the Cassadaga Hotel. I made the mistake of only booking her for 30 minutes. She walked me downstairs still telling me what she saw. The woman is a sweet, psychic powerhouse! The hotel's restaurant was surprisingly bad, but who cares with psychics this good? Just drive on out of town for grub!

Ive been to the town a few times the first time my friend had me leave saying it looked like the scenery of Friday the 13th ..... The town is a dumpy place very unkept homes and lawns ... I understand everyone has a budget but i see no effort to keep it presentable / its almost impossible to get ahold of readers and healers there : dont see them anywhere / makes the place feel even creepier / No place to eat if u are hungry : i definatley didnt want to eat at the hotel cafe since my friend told me she saw spirits of children looking at her I dont know what the point is of the majority of residents to be honest : if u are not available for readings and not working in the real world what do they do ? All day ? Hide somewhere? Freaky place needs an overhaul

Friends and I took a ride to Cassadaga as a day trip. I had a reading with Edward Conklin. Two of my friends went to another medium. I really enjoyed my reading. It's rather expensive ($60. for 1/2 hour) but his take on my family, past and present, really hit the mark. I recorded it-at his suggestion- for later review. I appreciated that. My friends did not record their reading. You might want to ask your reader about that. I did have an issue with parking on the very narrow streets. The hotel parking spaces were all filled. I do like the gift shop at the hotel. We did not eat in town. I definitely will return.

This was absolutely a waste of our money for the spiritualist Please don't bother . I had been 15 years ago to a spiritualist home. She was very good. The ones in the hotel this time were a scam .my friend and I went to two different ones yesterday. This was the biggest bunch of huey for both of us . my dog could have predicted and communicated with the spirits better than these two women. We were so disappointed. Lunch was very good. Service very good even though they were short staffed. So go for the lunch but skip the performance

If you are attracted to the supernatural and looking for a pit stop on your road trip or just a weekend escape its a quaint little town where Mediums manifest their gifts.The walking tour purchased next to the Hotel will provide the towns highlights. Didn't stay for the night...

Quaint town mad consisting of a few streets to stroll along. Had a reading with Lori from the Purple Rose; she did a great job. Enjoyed good coffee at the hotel . People were friendly for the most part. Parking was easy. I recommend this town for a two-three hour diversion, depending on if you plan to have lunch or take a guided tour.

As a former professional civilian nuclear energy educator, I was skeptical of the Camp's historical tour fearing a mostly "pro-spiritualist" sales approach, but I need not have worried. Walter, the tour guide, is an exceptional historical interpreter, whose laid-back style and humour is very engaging. His fact-oriented explanation of historical and environmental theories and myths was highly enjoyable as we walked amongst the oldest homes in Cassadaga. The visit inside the Colby Memorial Temple was especially memorable. If you are a history buff about Florida's spiritualist origins, or interested in Florida's early 20th century architecture and the environment, then you will appreciate Walter's passion. I suggest not bringing young children as the tour is very thorough and takes a good 90 minutes. The Visitor Centre and book store is also very welcoming. Well done Walter!

We took a break from Disney world and rented a car for the day. It is an easy hour,drive to Cassadaga, Florida. Just before the bridge, on the left is the " Secret Garden". I have read about Birdie in other reviews so.. my daughter and I stopped here, and met Birdie! She does readings here. We had never had one done before, so wasn't sure what to expect. Birdie, asked us not to tell her anything, she would tell us... and for the next 45 min she did!! She was right on the mark!! She asked us a couple of things that we didn't think was right, but when my daughter talked to her husband later, it was about his family! We were amazed! If in Cassadaga, for a reading, Birdie is the real deal! I had a hard time finding contact info for Birdie.... so just, in case you would want to contact her # is 386-228-3438

We went for the day and explored the area. People were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to meet our needs.

we liked this place, if we had more time we would have attended a healing event...located just across the street from the historical hotel in this quaint lil' municipality !

The hotel and bookstore are the gathering places for visitors who are interested in connecting with their spiritual selves, particularly through visits with one of the mediums. The cluster of houses around the hotel is a reminder of the continuing magnetism that attracts those who are dedicated to fostering a community centered on the spirit. It is a unique experience to visit Cassadaga whether for consultation or sightseeing.

When i arrived in Cassadaga, i visited the Coffee Shop and Bookstore. The Bookstore clerk was to the point of rude. When i asked a question about a medium i had an appointment with, she told me the Hotel and Mediums were not affiliaited and she did not know anything and could not help me. Imagine that ! The medium experience was not fascanating and the medium herself left quite a lack of personality. Not quite sure that I would go back again and spend that amount of money.

I visisted John just recently after having gotten a reading from him about a year ago. Everything he told me would happen to me, such as traveling to different countries, my financial situation, my career, it all happened. I came back to let him know how much I appreciated his reading and the things he told me, and i asked him about my new relationship, I recently got married and he already knew that my wife is very open and loving towards me! John is truly aware and gifted and I would recommend everyone to visit him, he is dedicated to what he does, his place is open most of the time even late night, and is across the street from the hotel, I am really thankful I got the chance to speak with him again!
