A great place to come in Apopka on Saturdays. Admission is by donation so you can pay as little or as much as you can, but all the fees go towards taking care of the birds. There are owls hawks Falcons and EAGLES to meet which was great. I took so many pictures! They also do rehabilitation but that part of the center isn't open to the public.

The Avian Reconditioning Center, or ARC, is a bird of prey rehabilitation and education facility located in Apopka, Florida, just outside of Orlando. ARC was started in 2001, and opened to the public in 2004. They are dedicated to raptor rehabilitation, education and research. They are open to the public on Saturdays from 10am - 3pm (Closed in August). They have many raptors that can not be returned to the wild and so you get a chance to get up close to many different types of raptors. Get a personal encounter with their resident eagles, hawks, falcons, kites and owls. The staff are mainly volunteers and all very knowledgeable about raptors. Carol and Scott, the co-founders, will make you most welcome and Scott demonstrates with a peregrine and then later with two comical half-brother Coopers Hawk. There is no fee, but a recommended donation of $5 per adult is good value for money. We have visited at least once per year and still find it fascinating. I think the best time to go is about 11am and plan to stay until about 3.30 when they fly the Coopers hawks. There is a gift shop and plenty of other small aviaries to see. A must for bird lovers,
