The train started out as a Christmas train with light displays. Now they have expanded to Halloween and Easter. This is a fun train ride with for all ages. If it is cold they provide blankets. Hot chocolate and popcorn is also provided for free. The whole event is free and funded by donations. You would pay $10 or more a person to find a comparable event. Family owned and operated. If you are in the suburbs, it is worth the drive.

This is a wonderful experience with NO CHARGE but they do have donation boxes for those wanting to donate to this wonderful experience. They have always had great staff working when I have visited. Personally I have only gone for the Christmas time but they also do an Easter Bunny train, a Pumpkin train, and private birthday parties (this option does have a cost). It is a great family experience for all riding around the loop in this miniaturized train. During the Christmas holiday, they also have popcorn and hot chocolate available (also free) and a Santa for children to sit and provide their list and get pictures. They have no problems with you taking your own pictures but have a professional photographer there if you choose to pay for it.
