hickory ridge vineyard

We prefer red wine, and we were encouraged to try the Widow's Kiss while dining at the Yellow Moon Cafe in Cobden on a Friday night. We loved it, and we made our way to Hickory Ridge Saturday afternoon. It is relaxing, and we loved the reds. We bought a case in a variety of bottles to take home, and we have enjoyed them greatly. The Widow's Kiss is absolutely superb. It is a place without the bells and whistles, with the obvious focus on making good wine. We enjoyed our afternoon enjoying some wine while sitting on the deck. We cannot wait to back.

The owners, Ron & Sylvia have created a splendid Norton wine that tastes so exceptionally smooth. Enjoy the Norton (or many of their other delicious wines),on their outside deck that looks out over the beautiful vineyard in the Shawnee forest of Southern Illinois. It's a bit out of the way, but well worth the scenic drive.
