So happy and excited that we have this wonderful facility in our community! The park is large, very clean and well maintained - beautiful natural landscape setting. Park is divided into two large sections, one for large dogs, and the other for small dogs. Informational bulletin boards outside the park with info on how to join, dog park etiquette tips, and Forest Preserve District information. There is a $55.00 per dog permit fee, but the cost is minimal in comparison to the exercise and socialization that my dogs and I get - it comes out to a cost of $1.05 per week! The park is open all year - from sun up to sun down. The people I've met there are so very friendly, and the dogs are all well behaved and have a GREAT time playing! The only thing missing is a water source, so you need to bring your own bottle of water for your pup.

We brought our dog Gunner to the park yesterday for the first time. It was Kevin's idea to sign him up and what a good idea. The ground was covered with snow but everything looked very clean and well kept. The dog area is divided by a fence into areas for large dogs and for small dogs. Gunner is a GSD/Huskie mix so we went to the large dog area. The area is very large with a few trees and bushes inside; very nice. Gunner ran to his heart's content a very high speeds through the area; something he could not do in an average sized enclosed yard. Membership is $55.00 and has to be renewed on October 1st each year, regardless of when you signed him up. It's like a fishing license. There are also restroom facilities close by. Perfect place; I'm so glad we signed him up.

Friendly people, a widley diverse array of dogs and a beautiful, well maintained, natural environment for everyone to enjoy. After you enjoy your time here with your four-legged friend, you can look forward to a worn out pooch. In fact, the hangover may even last a few days. What's better than a tuckered out pooch? Not much in my book. You can register for an annual pass at the Cook County website for a mere ~$60/year. A few visits a month and it's money well spent.

I have two Brittany spaniels. They LOVE running the entire park, especially the in groomed areas. Though I was disappointed to find the fee had already been increased per dog and ended up having to send another $10 in.

After participating in the online contest to try and win Oak Forest a new dog park - what a surprise to find we came in 2nd place (still a great prize was awarded for 2nd!) I've since joined with my two brittany spaniels and they absolutely love the ungroomed areas and very large space they can explore. I like that it IS groomed in many areas so I can walk out an keep an eye on them while getting exercise for myself. I love this dog park.
