Good wine, great atmosphere. Loved the way the winery was decorated. The owner was nice and informative, but the wine was a little pricey for me.

I have been to this winery on multiple occasions. It's located in the country out in the heart of farmland, but the owners have transformed this into an oasis of fun, gathering and relaxation, with a fish pond, gazebo, depot and bocce court. Areas can be rented for events. The winemaker Susan is very knowledgable and specializes in dry reds. Her Carmin is an award winning wine that should not be missed. The vineyard and winery have plenty of seating, cozy fireplaces, entertainment on occasion and an outdoor California style kitchen where she hosts local chefs to cook special dishes. I rented the winery for my daughters rehearsal dinner and it was the perfect setting. It is enclosed for the winter so you can enjoy a glass or two of red wine on a cold winter afternoon and enjoy the camaraderie of other guests and the owners themselves. Try her spicy red Scarlet - or, if you prefer sweet wine or white, there are varieties there to taste and enjoy. They also have beer on tap for men who aren't wine drinkers. This is a great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon with friends. Who says Illinois doesn't make good wines. Try this, you won't be disappointed. I recommend!!

Our first visit was a bit disappointing. Very few customers (4) there on a Sat. afternoon. The people who waited on us for the wine tasting must be just learning. There is no food, not even crackers to cleanse one's palette between tastings. They need to talk up their special events that include catered dinners. There was virtually no conversation about the wine or facilities. The place looks quite nice with an outside bar and lots of seating - perhaps this was just an off day since we saw great reviews on Face Book. We do wish them good luck. (The wine we tasted was very good, though a tad expensive.)
