We visited the Rustle Hill Winery on a very foggy and overcast dismal day, in the hopes of finding a cheerier atmosphere. We did not. The bar is stocked by camping coolers. The ceiling fixtures covered in cob webs or dead bugs. Bar stools were mismatched and covered in duck tap to save them from falling apart. The sad Christmas decorations adorning the place were a true testament to the general feeling of the area. The wine was a little better than alcoholic fruit juice, and service was so unprofessional and bored that we didn't even bother with food. Over all so unimpressive.

Lovely place, friendly people, good wine. Burgers are good too. They usually have live entertainment and tend to stay open later on weekends than other wineries on The Trail.

We had an excellent meal here with the shrimp tacos being the favorite. The wine tasting was informative despite a large crowd. Outdoor seating is so beautiful.

Second visit here in a couple of years. Been to several Shawnee Hills Wine Trail wineries. As this one stays open the latest - 9 PM - we go here last. Always have a great time. A fantastic local blues band was playing outside. We sat at a table, self-seating, on the edge of the second level deck over looking the stage. Friendly wait staff and customers (wine helps). Met a fun couple at a picture-taking spot on the road. Found them here and they joined us. We were wined-out so ordered a bucket of domestics. Ordered brushetta (wonderful) and a pizza (good). Prices were fair. This is the biggest winery building, but it was not over-crowded for a Saturday evening. The outdoor amphi-theater is really big, but I have not seen it in use. The ambiance - always outdoors for me at a winery - was beautiful second only to Blue Sky. I like it's on the highway instead of way out in the boonies like the others. Drive to the hotel was not a challenge in the dark.

I went to this winery for the first time over the weekend, very quaint and the girls working were all very sweet and helpful. We had a perfect day for sitting outside and enjoying the scenery! Will definitely come back!

My husband and I wandered here while visiting a few of the area wineries since they seemed to be open later than most. They had a great atmosphere with a live band playing, decks to sit on, a pond and rolling hills in the background, tasty food, and good wine. Was a great place to sit for a couple hours for a relaxing Saturday evening.

Five of us stayed in the Maple Tree Cabin for two nights. Although it is called a cabin, it is more like a small house. It was the perfect place for 5 women to stay as it had 4 full baths and three bedrooms. Either it had just been built or newly remodeled as everything looked new. We also enjoyed the fact that we could enjoy the winery and the entertainment as the winery is just a short walk away. I would definitely stay there again and would like to go back with my hubby and stay in one of the smaller cabins.

We went with the anticipation of having a one bedroom cabin, but due to some booking glitch, we were upgraded to a three bedroom lodge. Even though we didn't need the space for two of us, it was very nice of them and the accomodations were pleasing. We enjoyed the Rustle Hill sangria, the views from the terrace and even saw deer among the grapevines. Though we were there during the week, the weekends would be enjoyable with the outdoor entertainment and surroundings. Our friends joined us for an evening dinner here and the food was fresh and very good. All in all, it was a relaxing few days and just what we needed to get away! I would go back again:)

We visited during the week. Their wines were good, food even better, and atmosphere, the best! Nice venue for music. Many places to sit, lower and upper decks. Beautiful pond and grounds. You can rent their cabins for an overnight stay. It is nice that they stay open till 9 pm if you stay in their cabins. Bands on Wed. and weekends.

One of the nicest places to stay and they have gone out of they way to make sure you have extra stuff in your cabin. my family and friends will go back again.

Went on a Sunday during Memorial Day Weekend to do some tastings with the family. We were unable to do a tasting even though the show wasn't scheduled to start for 1-2 hours, which we did not find out for over 10 minutes after standing, waiting to be helped at the bar. I understand that they want their customers to enjoy their performers; however, as a passing through traveler the lack of knowledge about halting their tastings was frustrating. My recommendation- call ahead to find out about shows or visit another winery in the area as most others taste while they have performers present.

Rustle Hill is one of the top stops on the Southern Illinois wine trail. It is a beautiful place to visit with 2 large balconys overlooking the lake, good food and great music. The wine is not the best on the tour but this is still a worthwhile stop.
