It only takes about 45 min to go through but it is in a beautiful park, there are rescued animals, its clean, there is great information about each species and overall just a nice place to spend an afternoon.

Phillip's Park has come a long way! Such a nice little gem tucked into the city, a lot of history and fun things going on.

As the second largest city in IL, Aurorans should be proud of this gem. While it's not comparable to the likes of Brookfield, it is also free. I greatly enjoy my visits every time, reminded of my childhood experiences and the Friends of Phillips Park!

You can make an all-day trip out of this zoo, or you can get in and out in an hour or so. It's free to get in so it's a great way to spend an afternoon with the kids and there's enough to look at to keep the kids entertained. Most of it is local wildlife along with a few interesting species (my kids love the bald Eagles), but there's no elephants or giraffes or other exotic animals. The splash park in the front is perfect for cooling off on a hot day and the little dinosaur exhibit in the visitor center is pretty interesting, too. We usually pack a lunch and eat at the picnic tables by the playground after visiting the zoo and end the trip with some time to run and play. It's not the same as a day at Brookfield or Lincoln Park, but for free and easy it gets 5 Stars from me.

The park is not only great in the summer, but now during the holidays, there is a wonderful Christmas lights display throughout the park, It's free but you can make a donation of your choice to the Rotary club if you wish.

The light show and Christmas decorations are super. The time that was spent decorating is well worth the admission.

We found this cute little zoo while visiting the area. It was a perfect size for my young son and I too explore! We went in late October so the fall colors of the park were just beautiful. The wolves were our favorite. It is free to visit which is something you can't beat. There is also lots of running room and a big playground right outside the zoo to play at. It is definityly worth visiting for a lovely afternoon.

I love this Zoo. During the summer, they have everything out, including some birds that are lonely behind the tortoise area, so if you like birds, they love to be spoken to and will watch you all day long. I especially love the two cougars and the wolves get pretty active when it is a little bit cooler. I believe that one of my favorite owls died - the owl that is by the Swan and I also believe that one of the swans died, but it was an especially bitter and horrible winder, so it is kind of sad. During the winter, you can see the Elk walk across the frozen lake and in the summer, they love to stand in the lake to stay cool. It is a great place to visit and you don't have to stay forever to see everything. Sometimes it's a nice quick getaway to just get a break from everything.

I love Phillips Park, my children grew up coming to this park, It now has great up grades over the years, the Animals, the sunken garden is very beautiful, you have to take the train ride around the park. fun for everyone of all ages.

Love the new landscaping and since it is a small zoo there are no big crowds. It's free to visit love the native birds they have there. The eagle is beautiful.

Phillips Park Zoo is a neat find. Easily walkable for all ages, the zoo has a nice collection of animals from the local region, including many recuperating from injuries which make their release into the wild impossible. It's pretty small, so it makes a great addition to any visit into or through Aurora. Best yet: it's free! My favorite part is the reptile house.

What a great little zoo. Free admission, not much walking, and the reptile house is really cool. It looks like they are still working on an expansion so some of the exhibits are empty but they have Otters, Wolves, eagles, all types of birds, peacocks , alligators/snakes/turtles. It's also adjacent to a sunken garden which is planted with gorgeous flowers. They even have a free tram ride thru the park around the zoo. When you are done with the zoo they have a very large shaded playground.

This was an excellent little zoo and it was free. Some of the animals were not out at the time but for the price it was amazing. They also have educational poster with almost every exhibit that are nice and help to explain why they have the animal. Also there was a little spary park with ample seating for adults. My daughter had a blast!

As a parent of two small children, I would say that this zoo is a good choice if looking to make it as part of a day at the park. The exhibits were focused on animals from the region, so it was a nice change from looking at the usual zoo attractions. The enclosures were all well maintained and included some interesting information about each animal. One of the really nice things about the zoo was that many of the animals were rescues from the wild.In addition to the zoo, there is also a sunken garden, splash pad and a small museum about mastodons. On the day we visited, there was also a hot dog cart selling drinks and a couple of food items. Overall, the zoo is small when compared to other local ones like Lincoln and Brookfield, but I would say that it should not detract from people checking out.

The sunken gardens are beautiful. The animals are peaceful, and the price is free! Bring a picnic and spend the day!
