NACE is staffed with incompetent people who make no attempts to rectify issues with orders. Buying direct from artisans in Gallup, NM and ordering via western stores off the reservation is encouraged to get the best prices and to also get better customer service.

I at one time was a fan of N.A.C.E. (Navajo Arts and Crafts Enterprise) but you all lost me when I purchased 2 5M Ariat jeans, 2 Ariat button up shirts and a Cinch cap. You see as I was trying on my shirts, I left my limited edition Black and red Cinch hoodie behind, and I tried calling them back like 20 times to never speak to anyone. The next day I spoke to a lady there who said that they retrieved it and would label it and would hold it for me to pick up only to be told 3 days later that no such thing was ever found! SO NOT COOL!!

This is an excellent spot to shop. We had been to Santa Fe and Earl's in Gallup. We liked this better, especially because we felt comfortable that what we were buying was genuine and that we were supporting the artists.Don't come here looking for antiques, but do come here if you want a nice selection of appropriately priced jewelry, blankets, rugs and other crafts.

Located across from the Days Inn motel, the Window Rock store is one among six or seven present in various communities in Navajo Country; however this one is the largest I have seen and it also has a workshop where you can order custom-made jewelry! The choice of locally made jewelry is fabulous, there are also a number of nice Navajo rugs, as well as various types of others crafts, books, and calendars. Crafters can purchase stones, wires and other materials to make artefacts of their own. My wife was able to choose a stone and have it set by one of the jewellers within the premises. Last year I had noticed that rugs were way cheaper than at the stores located in cities outside Navajo Country. The staff is extremely friendly.
