This museum had many interesting items. It is located in the old courthouse. The jail in the basement was definitely secure. it also looked very cold.

We would have bypassed this museum had it not been for the recommendation of the folks over at Joe & Aggie's Café across the road. About a third of the museum is preserved rooms from the old courthouse, another third are period pieces and exhibits highlighting the old west, and the last third is a hodgepodge collection of random old stuff (soda machines, video recorders, etc.). It's a better option on Old Route 66 than most of the souvenir shops and captures the spirit of the Mother Road.

My kids really liked the old jail in the museum. It is a crowded museum, but lots of interesting things to look at. I also enjoyed the old courtroom in the exhibit. Kids will probably mostly enjoy the jail. I wasn't sure if we would enjoy this museum, but we all did.

The court house museum was average. It is a self guided tour, the building has some old west items but nothing really impressive. There is no guide, just a few signs here and there to tell you what some things are. There are lots of stairs so it isn't handicap accessible. The court room floor is very nice to look at though.

You can spend easily an hour or more just touring this historic site. Plan on more, the staff is very friendly and like to talk about the history of Holbrook. Well worth the time.

A small museum with a lot of items from the people of the city. Volonteers eager to tell storirs from town and about the items on display. Museum includes a court room and the former city jail in the basement.

Good history lesson and some fascinating artifacts. It's all free and you can even take home some petrified wood if you donate. The staff are lovely and the whole place is a treasure. Enjoy

I adored this museum. It was highly flavorful and my favorite of all time. I'm so tired of museums that present all interpretation and too little to look at. This was the opposite. It felt like the Route 66 era. The building is old, there is no effort at over-renovation, the wall color is in places that old mint-green from about 1920-50. The exhibits are crowded with fascinating artifacts from about 1890 to 1960. They are partly organized into room scenarios like a pharmacy and kitchen. There are also wonderful collections of everyday items. There is so much to see. Yes, the eras of the artifacts are jumbled up, but so what? People use stuff from past decades as well as contemporary items all the time. Also part of the museum is a sturdy old jail that was closed in 1976. It's just a little rusty and the place is made more eerie by the rather delicate graffiti of a wonderful artist who decorated it before he was transferred out in 1976. I want to live in this museum. Stern warning to the museum curators--do not change! Do not contemporize!

Nice little museum with a lot of interesting stuff to look at. Very informative about Navajo County history. My son liked the old jail cells.

This local museum is in a very interested former courthouse building. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The museum has interesting collections, although the explanatory labels could use updating and a little more care in preparation and content. The building retains the feel of a courthouse of its period, which is interesting in and of itself. The museum does not charge admission, so donate whatever you can. Well worth an hour or so - and considerably more time if Arizona or Holbrook history are special interests.

We LOVED this! The artifacts and collections are great - authentic, diverse and interesting (not always easy to get that balance). There is a lot of local history here, things that help tell the story of place, and also things that are representative of life in a bygone era for the whole country, not just the old southwest. My kids were all interested. The jail was very cool to see and we also enjoyed the dinosaur in the parking lot, but don't stop at that!

Authentic 1800s jail in the basement is fantastic! Spooky! Great photo ops. The entire building is loaded with history and great displays such as old cameras which had almost every model since the inception of photography.

I thought this was a really nice museum considering the size of the town it's in. We spent about an hour here and really enjoyed the diversion. Worth the stop if you need a break from a long drive or just happen to be in the area.
