walked in to eat inside, and walked out, it looked terrible inside the place looked dirty and I can see why most folks ate outside, but we had a desire to eat in. it was terrible

That was the best Rueben sandwich we ever had. And they did not charge us extra to share our lunch (as some restaurants in Helen do). Also, the outdoor patio had a lovely view of the river.

We visit Helen pretty often and make it a point to stop at the Cafe International for some German fare, Great staff, wonderful food and the outdoor cafe along the water makes it worth the trip.Highly recommended...

The food was great once we were finally waited on. We went inside to eat, the cooks were all watching tv, we finally asked if anyone was waiting tables. "Oh are you here to eat?" And they quickly retreated to the kitchen. Another 5 min., No one came out so we got up, went and knocked on the kitchen door and asked if they were serving. A waitress finally came took our order, and when we got the Reuben sandwich it was great. True reuben and sauerkraut. But don't expect much for the service.

Relax and enjoy The Best Ruben and delicious German delights. Listen to the sounds of the rushing mountain stream and watch folks tubing by. This is a wonderful experience and I would recommend. Nice places to stay, seasonal. events and great sights.
