While on the SAM Shortline train, we were told to try the peanut butter ice cream at the Plains peanut store. I am so glad we took the advice; some of the best ice cream I've ever had. The Plains peanut store is in a small building that gets quite crowded with a trainload of people inside. The peanut butter ice cream is soft serve and is reasonably priced. The staff at the store were friendly as well. We are glad we don't live close to the Plain's peanut store; we would be there everyday to get their ice cream!

The store is cool, its like going back in time. They have almost every different kind of peanut or pecan prepared any way you like. Raw roasted, fried, in brittle and even in ice cream. If youre in south Georgia, please stop by.

You can't visit peanut country without visiting this store and purchasing one or more of the variety of peanuts available. The place is much as it was when Jimmy was running for president and serving as our 39th chief executive.

Who comes to Plains without thinking of peanuts? The fresh variety right from the field are much tastier than standard products at one's local grocery store -- and it is that freshness you will find here. The helpful staff will assist you in selecting a purchase with free samples and good advice. The inexpensive basic fried peanuts are a great choice for their flavor. Peanut brittle fans will also leave very happy.

The peanut ice cream is a must try. It was so good and I really like the different fruit spreads so I always get my favorites to bring home.

Not a lot of choices for refreshment in downtown Plains, but this is a great stop over while visiting the Jimmy Carter museum, the fried peanuts are great and must try the peanut butter ice cream!

the store was a little disappointing, too many items from Carter's presidential campaign. The saleswoman was very informative about the Carter family & I enjoyed their peanut butter icecream.

The friendly staff offers you a taste of peanut butter ice cream when you walk in the store because they know once you taste it, you must buy more. I first tasted it three years ago, and I've been dreaming of it ever since. I made sure I brought my sister here on our recent trip so she could experience it, too. In addition, we bought lots of other locally-made goodies - peanut brittle, fudge and jam. The clerk couldn't have been more friendly - just what you think of when you think of southern hospitality!

How can you resist buying peanuts in Plains, GA? This store has every variety from fried to boiled (yuck!) to brittle to ice cream, plus a million souveniers and collectibles. Plus it's right on main street (which consists of 5 stores) in Plains. Loved it.
