We stayed at the campground at the Recreation Area. The sites and restrooms were clean. The hosts were very helpful with directions and attractions in the area. Most campsites are water only. It was a very quiet time and relaxing time because only a few other campers were there. The swimming area at Morganton point was also clean and it can get busy on the weekends. It had a buoyed off area for swimming. The beach is red clay and rocks which is normal for the region. Blue Ridge Lake is wonderful. Check out the town of Blue Ridge lots of shops and places to eat. The nicer restaurants require reservations or you will be standing awhile. White water rafting is a great way to spend the day too. There are plenty of outfitters close the the area to choose from. We had such a great time we are going back in two months to enjoy the fall weather.

Today we had a wonderful relaxing time at this park. It was very clean. There was definitely a lot of rocks, but it didn't stop the five of us from enjoying the water. My kids played for hours. The view was gorgeous. The water refreshing. The ice cream treat from the store was perfect for the kids.
