This is a paved path that takes you to the bridge at the base of the Falls. This is the easiest way to access the cascade. It is ADA compliant.

You can either walk down the stairs or hike down the trail. Wonderful day of beautiful nature. The waterfalls lead to this pond where you can relax.

Pretty. There is a pond or stream with a swing an benches an picnic tables very meditative. You can actually drive to this part of the Falls. The day we went plenty of parking but maybe not so on the week-end..I would say to have to walk to the base an then walk up to the Falls, being older, overweight, but determined it would be to much!

There are 175 stairs and some uphill climbing to get to the base of the falls, but it is well worth it....this is a beautiful falls! We love this park and waterfall area!!

This is a great trail. You can climb the stairs to get down to the falls or take the wheelchair access trail. There are some more stairs that have no wheelchair access that follows the water down to the bottom of the trail. It is a great park and we have been several times. Always worth the trip to north ga.

A spotless park, lots to see and do. The falls are a great, but if the stairs are to much for you , you can drive up. You can see them halfway or go to the top. We were here in the spring but the colors in fall should be great

Paved up to a point up a grade that can get a little steep at places, then there are wooden steps to climb even higher. I went as far as the base of the steps (because of my back), but my wife went to the top and said it was very worth it.

Do the steps from the bottom to the top. You can see the falls as you climb. Make it more interesting.

There is always something to see and the water flow now with the recent rains is really good. Flowers blooming, trees budding, etc.

Easy hike and fun for the family! After hiking the trail there is a playground for the kids to play on great areas to picnic.

Love love love this state park. Wonderful view of the falls from the bottom of the stairs. The only annoying part of the experience might be some of the old guys who take delight in jogging up and down the very long extreme stairs.

Nice Place to start the arduous climb. We do love to take fammly and friends. We do earn our lunch at the hotel.

The Amicalola Falls are the tallest waterfalls East of the Mississippi - 729 feet! A definite must see! You can drive and park at both the top and bottom of the falls if you just can't make the stairs. However the views from the stairs are definitely worth the effort and ones you just can't see from driving in the car up and down. Great exercise too. People of all ages were walking the stairs and even some couples carrying infants, toddlers and even family pets in the arms up & down the stairs. There are rest benches all along the way as well. Our goal is run the stairs up & down twice next trip. :-)

Be prepared to go up stairs - total 625 up to the top. Be sure to wear tennis shoes!
