It's Christmas and the park has many displays with thousands of lights. You can enjoy the scenery from the comforts of your vehicle as you drive thru. It was very colorful and our family enjoyed it.

We love the variety that this park offers. The basketball courts and tennis courts are usually well maintained and the walking path has no equal in the county. The playground is probably the most disappointing part of the park as it is not maintained as much as we would like. The slide was broken for weeks! Also, you can't reserve the picnic pavilion for birthday parties. I had to sit out there for at least three hours to make sure we got the space when I was 7 months pregnant. It's a popular birthday and bbq spot so it would be nice if you could place a hold.

Cornelia City Park is adjacent to the Community House on Wiley Street in Cornelia. The park has a walking trail, tennis courts, picnic tables, childrens play area and seasonal celebrations. Spring and Summer days are excellent times for the children to play on the swings, walk through the park and enjoy a family picnic. A covered shed is in the picnic area. In the fall the Apple Festival sponsors crafts and activities in the park. In December and early January the City of Cornelia sponsors a wide variety of seasonal Christmas lights in the early evening. While no comparison to those in a major city or park, it is highly regarded as one of the best in the area. There is no fee to drive along the city park access road to view the lights and hear the Christmas music. Lights off and drive slowly!
