Visting the Dali Museum-House lends a whole new dimension to this gifted and eccentric genius. We arrived on a weekday morning in the shoulder season without a reservation and only had to wait a short while to enter on a small group tour. However, if traveling during any kind of high volume season, it is a MUST to secure an advance reservation as only a few people are admitted per tour. Visitors must be escorted in these groups, moving through the varied rooms in 5 to 10-minute intervals. It is clear that the property managers aim for visitors to tread carefully through the rooms, so be prepared to check even medium-sized handbags. The lighting and locale are extraordinary, deserving as much of photo-taking as does the house. The exterior appearance of the building is relatively demure, fitting in well with the inlet scenery.Reading other TA reviews, it sounds like there was a video available which was not offered to us. Nonetheless, this is a delightful and inspirational stop that our young adult children greatly enjoyed.

Having visited the Dali Museum in Figueres a few years ago, it was a must to visit his house in Cadaques - it was an experience not to be forgotten quickly. The tour of the house only lasted some 30 minutes which was hardly adequate to fully appreciate the genius of the man but it was in a small group - there is a limit of eight on each guided tour. However, our experience was enlarged with the viewing of a film made in 2012 by French TV which was shown at a location in the garden - it gave an additional dimension to our visit; it is a shame that this film is not mentioned in any of the on-line publicity.

Highlight of my visit to Catalonia. Have loved Dali's work for many years so to visit his crazy home was just fantastic. It did not disappoint and is as mad as it looks in the photos - but it is the atmosphere of the location which makes it special. That is another tick off my bucket list.

It wasn't easy to reach this place but it worth the driving. Dali is of course an eccentric and fascinating artist so being at the place where he worked with his wife is some great experience. The place itself is fantastic, located in a quite village and close to a beautiful beach. I have been to several places housing his works but this one is my favorite. Highly recommended but you should book the ticket in advance especially in the peak season.

We went in Dali house just before the last tour for the day. the light contributed a lot to the whole atmosphere in the house and the garden. It is a magical place, where one truly can understand from where Dali was getting his inspiration and where he put his heart and soul. The views to the sea is magical. The guide was very informative. Very impressive and surrealistic!

We liked the way small groups were shown round the house at set times so you were not overcrowded in the rooms. This trip gave a fascinating insight into Dali's surroundings. We particularly liked the oval domed room upstairs and his swimming pool! It would have been good to have an English translation of the films shown in the room above the olive grove.

It was quite intimate and I was lucky that there were not many visitors. It made the Surrealist more real :-)

We visited in October and walked over from Cadaques. The beach and house were really fascinating and we spent a long time there. The guide was informative and helpful. The house was magical and it was if Dali had just walked out. Very atmospheric.

We visited every Dali related building possible. Since this was his town in many ways..we found this place to hold his soul

Visited this museum a while back and enjoyed it very much. Has s lot more to see than the one Montmartre in Paris. Very quirky outdoor building. A must see.

After visiting the Museum-Theatre in Figueres last month, we continued on, over the mountains and through the switchbacks, to Dali’s home on the coast outside the tiny town of Cadaques. Starting with a simple fisherman’s shack, Dali designed and built a private compound that housed him and Gala for many productive years. This is a tightly controlled tourist site. Only eight visitors are allowed into the house at any time. You must have a ticket, you must comply with the specified arrival time, and you must move through the house when and how the tour guide dictates (our guide was a dour robot locked into a script). After your time inside the house, you can visit the grounds at leisure where there are several interesting buildings, films and sculptural elements to see in addition to the pool pavilion.Don’t expect to find Dali’s masterworks here, rather go for the opportunity to understand more of his eccentric and inventive view of art and the universe. I loved seeing the bedroom he shared with Gala and the ingenious solution for working on large canvases in his studio. And enjoy the beautiful coastline, waterfront restaurants and bakery treats in town.

After spending some time trying to drive to the Dali House we finally arrived and parked the car. BIG surprise, - only guided tours and we were lucky to join one of the the tours after having waited some time. Best option, - book tickets in advance through their web site. BUT, - what a wonderful experience. The house, grounds and views are fantastic. The guides were professional, patient and spoke several languages. This place is a must if you visit Cadaques. Salvador Dali spent a lot of time in this house, at times we felt he was just around the corner. This was our second time to the Dali House. If you like to walk, - it is possible to walk along the coast line from Cadeques. Enjoy it!!

The history is incredible, but the views and the artwork are mystical. We loved the entire 2 hours spent on the grounds and in the building.

Take a peek inside the artist's mind inside of his home...this was a truly unforgettable experience. Dali was a wonderful interesting artist and his home is nothing short of a work of art.It is not easy to get to, you will take a train from Barcelona, about an hour long, then it is about another hour to the house by taxi or bus. The ride is through the mountains and you end up in a beautiful city on the water, it is well worth the trip. We left Barcelona around 730 AM and were back around 5 PM. I do not regret it for one second!Dali house is not to be missed if you are an art lover and especially if you are a fan of Dali!

Really worth visiting Dali's house. To say that he lived there 25 years ago is really exciting. Highly recommend.
