This museum is absolutely surprising. Came here with my wife and baby, just because tripadvisor marked it nearby. What a great great surprise!!If you have at least an hour, do yourself a favor and visit this place. The entry for adults is € 5 but well worth every cent. There are four rooms with so much interesting and curious information about the bread ancient production techniques and bread kinds. We learned a lot. Definitely recommend it to everyone, younger or eldest.At the end, they have a small surprise for the children, they bake a round piece of bread that children make by themselves with their name and decoration. Very beautiful. You can also take lots of pictures as they have small size houses and set ups!They have had 1 million visitors in 10 years, so you can't really go wrong!!!There's also a shop with local products and a cafe with great views of the landscape.If you found this review helpful, please vote below! An unexpected museum. Beautiful building, outstanding location. Good historic research, interesting documents and exhibition and a room with puppets which if you have children is very , very nice. Didn't try the restaurant but after seeing it we feel sorry...

Museu do pão is a good place to go with children when you are exploring Serra da Estrela. The expositions are nice and they have an activity with children where they bake a decorative piece of bread. The restaurant has delicious food but somethimes you need to book ahead!

Very interesting museum. Plenty of rooms to visit, and awesome for children who can actually made a piece of bread!A must visit.

The museum itself has a nice part for little kids, where they can make their own bread. The adult part is filled with history and explanations related to the region and the bread making process. There is a local products shop where you can buy some amazing cheese, bread, wine and other products. If you visit on Christmas time, the decoration is really good =)

Somehow we came across the Museu do Pao on the internet & added it as a lunch stop on our trip to the Serra da Estrela. The museum is a little work to find but the views are nice from atop the hill overlookng Seia. The restaurant is packed with families on Sunday so we recommend calling ahead. Luckily since there was only 2 of us, they squeezed us in. The buffet is a nice mix of local cuisine and 5 types of bread! Afterwards we also toured the museum, which features a lot of information on the importance of bread in Portuguese history. I think the museum & restaurant is closed on Mondays.

Last time I was in Serra da Estrela I went to Seia to visit the Bread Museum (open since 2002) unique museum in the world shows the whole process of making bread from the grain to the bread. The museum as four diferent rooms, a fine restaurant, a bar with a great view, a grocery store with typical products from the region.Entrance only costs € 2!Don´t miss it.

Este simpático e pequeno museu situado à saída de Seia é dedicado ao património do pão português. Desde 2002 aberto ao público está dividido em 4 salas, Ciclo do pão, arte do pão, politico social e religioso e sala temática. Incrível a importância do pão na história da humanidade. A entrada custa €5,00. À saída do museu pode encontrar um simpático café com uma bonita vista de Seia. Se souber usar o piano peça para tocar. Ainda podes descansar e ler uma revista ou um dos livros expostos. Depois de um belo descanso pode ir à mercearia e provar e comprar alguns óptimos produtos locais. O melhor é o pão especial do museu, sem dúvida um dos melhores pães do mundo!!! Ainda pode dar um salto ao restaurante para comer uma bela refeição. Somando isto tudo torna-se numa visita obrigatória para quem passa por Seia.

Um sítio muito aprazível no meio de uma serra aprazível. Ficamos a saber muito mais da história do nosso pão com simpatia. O restaurante serve comida farta e de qualidade bastante boa. Entradas e sobremesas em formato buffet. Única limitação é os pratos principais serem pré definidos e não podermos escolher outro.

De notar que vou avaliar apenas o museu e não o restaurante com o mesmo nome, como alguns comentadores parecem confundir.O museu, para mim, tem um custo demasiado elevado para o que nos oferece. As lembranças também estavam com um valor alto. Atendimento algo apressado, mesmo quando o mesmo se encontrava quase vazio. Parece-me que é um daqueles museus vocacionados para o turismo estrangeiro, o que é uma pena, na minha opinião.

um bocado bem passado, tem varias valências para alem do museu, o bar panorâmico com uma vista magnifica, restaurante e uma mercearia com produtos da região e pão feito no local

Gostei muito da visita ao museu. Aborda muitos temas relacionados com o pão e todo o historial desde há muitos anos. Confesso que não esperava gostar tanto.A visita guiada é mais indicada para os mais pequenos, no entanto é muito engraçada.
