The presecint is neatly tucked away from the grim chip vans of the main street, the the eye is drawn to gothic frontage. Inside it is a masterpiece of the Romanesque, and it spost-refformation simplicity diminishes nonw of the splendour. Charges are optional, but come on, it's got to be paid for!

Magnificent . Burial place of Catherine of Aragon and original burial place of Mary Queen of Scots. Many interesting displays.

I found the cathedral to be absolutely lovely, especially the ceiling, which was particularly gorgeous!

It's free, the volunteers were welcoming and helpful, and it was very interesting. I disliked the fact that the coffee shop was out of action!

Its a excelent place.I like too much to walk around the church and the church is amazing. its very big the cathedral. You can attend Mass and see the very different style than in other countries .

If you enjoy a good cathedral then this is one of the best. Tastefully restored after some fire damage there is not much more to say.

My wife and I decided to visit this 800 year old building after seeing it fleetingly on TV.I guess you really have to be "in to" Cathedrals sometimes to totally appreciate them. This is a beautiful building that boasts lots of history and like many others, was ransacked by the destructive King Henry VIII. Catherine of Aragon was buried here as she was executed nearby but her remains were later removed to Westminster Abbey. Mary Queen of Scots also lays here. It is a stunning building and the architecture is some of the finest externally. I think if I was to find one fault it would be that it would seem the only people interred internally here were former organ players or local bailiffs or sherriffs. When you visit many of this great countries Cathedrals, they have a lot more interesting people interred and I would have expected to see some military influence too, like a local Regiments colours but nothing! That said, we enjoyed our visit and would certainly recommend it, especially, unlike most Cathedrals, it's free to enter!!

Peterborough is not my favourite city/town to visit in England but the cathedral certainly lifts the spirits. Set in its own grounds on the periphery of the main shopping centre, it is a wonderful building amongst the unedifying structures that form chain store Peterborough. With the tomb of Catherine of Aragon in the cathedral, it is blessed with a long and interesting history. Magnificent pillars and arches hold the roof high above a plain but atmospheric interior. Although it does not have the opulence or size of some historic cathedrals, it does have a peacefulness that makes one want to take time to look around.

The beauty and history of this site is must for any visit to the Peterborough area. The displays inside chronicle the timeline of the cathedral and offer much information; the architectural detail is jaw-dropping. Located just off the Bridge Street pedestrian mall, access is very convenient. Allow yourself enough time to make a leisurely visit...a couple of hours, easily. Note that there is a small fee for taking photos inside the cathedral.

A glorious Romanesque cathedral, orginally an abbey, with Katherine of Aragon's tomb and spectacular roofs.

A lovely cathedral, with the most amazing ceilings. The tomb of Katherine of Aragon (Henry VIII's first wife) is here, and Mary Queen of Scots was originally buried here before being translated to Westminster Abbey. Some lovely carvings, with evidence of those naughty iconoclasts - Cromwell's army. Plus some quite unusual 'modern' alabaster and marble tombs. They do hope you'll give a donation - after all, you're visiting it as a museum and it does have huge maintenance costs. Which is why you're offered an envelope to make a donation. There's also a little cafe so you can enjoy a sit down and cuppa during your visit, helping to raise funds at the same time.Well worthwhile making a visit.

A beautiful cathedral and surrounding grounds, if a sunny warm day you can sit out on the lawn , right in the heart of the town !
