We've actually toured the mill site numerous times and have enjoyed the family/group activities they have on offer and we could still go again. It's a small site, but fascinating. Some of their yarn, though expensive, makes me want to use it. It has been dyed by Ripples Yarns and is the most glorious range of colours inspired by the Cairngorm scenery. Full review on our own website at Scot Mountain Holidays.

Visited here with our 7 year old son and 75 year old mum. Everyone enjoyed their visit, from the tasty soup and pate to watching and reading about the mill machinery. Total silence for the film. Lovely grounds to walk around.

First time visit to this place, and though it is out of the way, the staff are professional and knowledgeable, and the information is fantastic. The little coffee shop has a limited but nice menu, Beautiful surroundings. Well worth a visit.

we often take a day out to the Knockando Woolmill, they had a grant to restore the old mill and the grounds, the grounds had a make over by the beach grove garden show, they also have a small tea room with very good home cooking.

Interesting to see how it was and still is done. All the staff were helpful and knowledgeable. Coffee shop was lovely; gift shop was well stocked and tempting enough to make me part with my cash. Despite the constant rain, we had a good afternoon.

We stopped by here while waiting for the tour at the Cardhu Distillery, it was a beautiful step back through time. There's also a lovely little coffee shop, unfortunately we didn't really have the time to grab a mug, but it sure smelled amazing.

Visited here post Distillery in need of coffee & lunch....very disappointed to discover on arrival at car park that the cafe & visitor centre were shut but the shop was open. Wandered thro the garden & restored old mill cottages, viewed the shop with its lovely range of high quality woollen items, saw the restored mill area etc. In all very nice and very good restoration. Found it very interesting....just felt a little let down that the cafe was closed.

...very nice place. Watch the video which explains how the wool process works - it is very informative. The items they sell are super nice!

We enjoyed a wander round the gardens and the exhibits and shop. We called in after our visit to a local distillery. Worth a stop

The garden is great - the plants are especially chosen as they can be used for dyes. The smell of home cooking drew me in and the whisky loaf did not disappoint. A very interesting place to visit.

Quaint small working mill set in beautiful countryside with café and shop selling lovely woollen goods and pottery. Definitely worth a visit. Loved it.

What a fantastic renovated wool mill nestled in stunning scenic location. Very helpful friendly staff, superb cafe with homemade cakes, courgette and lime cake homemade soup scones all ingredients sourced locally.Beautiful tweed garments and gifts and a sense of nostalgia as you stroll around the peaceful sympathetically renovated grounds and buildings. Free entry. An wonderful example of local history and skills. Definitely worth a visit, stunning scenery and views on the drive there too. Water wheel turning adds to the tranquility of a fantastic attraction.

We called in here after our tour of the Glenfiddich distillery which is in the same area. It's quite a small place with plenty of history and a great story behind it. You can watch the old Victorian machinery which has been restored to full working order doing its 'thing'. There are information boards all around the viewing area but watch the whole process at work is a good sight. Entry is free I should add. Dogs are allowed on a lead, the mill is a short walk down a track from the car park. We had a bite to eat in the coffee shop as well which was very nice. The menu is a little limited but what is on there is very good. I had a deluxe hot chocolate which came with cream and a flake and a fruit scone with jam, very good indeed. A well stocked shop stocks many woollen products all of great quality, along with some nice china pieces and mementos.

We came apon this interesting renovated mill quite by chance. It in the middle of the Speyside Malt Whisky distilleries on the back road from Grantown to Archiestown, and what an interesting set up it is,with working old fashioned tweed mill and shop. However the coffee & shortbread we had was without doubt the best we had experienced in Scotland, pleasently served in a large cafetiere which meant there was more than 2 cups each ,and superb shortbread that was perfection. All for £8 for 3 persons. HIGHLY recommended

This wool mill is well worth a visit which should start with watching the video that plays on a loop at the back of the shop.We found the staff to be extremely friendly and welcoming. The wee tea shop is nice and the young girl who served us was very pleasant.I would have loved to see the machinery in operation but we visited on a Sunday - so, I'll just have to go back again!
