We took a 3 yr old and a 7 yr old here. Very Clean indoor area with soft play which was great to have something to at and a cup of tea.The animals are well kept and where all labelled with a little description of their origin.A little on the expensive side but the kids enjoyed it and tired them out for the evening. There was a loose baby goat which would come up and bed for food, the kids loved it as you didn't have to reach through a fence to feed it. All in all a good day out

We arrived late afternoon and it was very quiet - the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The fun farm itself was well maintained, clean, and all the animals were labeled so we could identify them. We had a young child with us who got a bit grumpy at the end - the lady working on reception cheered him up immensely and was really kind. Excellent place, well worth a visit!

Had my 7 yo boy's party there today.Had my reservations before hand but it worked out so well.Great venue, loads of room to run around, staff fantastic ,play equipment well maintained and all the animals and the freedom the kids had to interact with them was super. My son says"it was my best birthday ever"

Recently visited mellon fun farm. On arrival everything looks great and clean and it is a nice wee place to visit but not worth the price. £37 for four adults, a 5 year old and a 2 year old. Added extras are 50p for a bag of food and £1 each for the tractor ride. Animals inside are lovely to look at but would be nice to have posters etc up with a bit of information about the animals, names, what they eat, for the childrens sake. Park outside is good. Small play area inside for the children is a good idea while waiting on food but anymore than 8 children in it would be over crowded, which thankfully didnt happen while we were there. Ordered drinks and a few kids meals which were fine. Didnt really have much dealings with staff but they seemed friendly enough. I know this is probably a family run farm and they have to keep up maintenance and earn a profit but I really think they are over charging people for all thats on offer.

To begin I would just like to say how wonderful an afternoon we spent at Mellon fun farm. Honestly some of the reviews here are obviously just from people who have absoloutley no understanding of how a farm actually works. As someone who lives on a farm I assure you the animals at Mellon are all well looked after, none of them seemed in any distress or sickly in any way, their pens were all spacious with food, water and nice places to bed down. The farm is clean, well maintained with plenty of places to wash your hands. Access is fantastic and totally friendly for a disabled visitor. The areas inside and outside for kids to play in are fantastic and spotless, seriously hours of fun for wee people. People must appreciate that the 6.50 charge in isn't much. One must consider how much it costs to feed and maintain these animals. It's hard work and does not just finish at 6pm with the weekend off. All animals require attention basically 24/7. The staff at Mellon fun farm work hard and it shows. The wee bag of corn to feed the animals is a lovely idea and is just lovely to feed the goats, chickens and other animals with. We got some really great pictures taken. We didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked really lovely, with lots of treats available. We also spoke to the lady owner at the end and she was extremely helpful and lovely to talk to. All in all we had a great afternoon.

Myself and my 4 children recently visited the farm, and it did not disappoint! My youngest just loved the baby fox, and even I have to admit the fox was certainly a highlight. The farm itself is beautiful, and very clean. In comparrison to other fun farms, this is most certainly the cleanest. The food is 100% and could not fault! I will certainly return to the farm, my children just loved it! The staff were very welcoming and made us feel very comfortable, and at ease :) Brill day!

We visited this farm on a Monday afternoon and what a great day we had! We took along 3 children and 2 adults, firstly this is much cheaper than the Zoo and N.I's other great attraction Tayto Factory! Once inside the farm the only other additional cost is a £1 tractor ride. (its not often that this is the only additional cost when you enter an attraction.) We had hours of fun, feeding and petting many well looked after animals. We finished our day out with a bite to eat in the little café. The food was delicious and definitely not standard fast food quality. we will definitely be back and will tell all our friends about the excellent day out we had at Mellon Fun Fun. 5*****

Went here for one last day of fun before school. Everything was fine until we were approached and told that we had went tru a wrong gate. We went tru the one that was opened following other people. Felt disgusted that they had to actually run down to inform us. Good advice would be to close gates u dont want people going tru and open the ones u do....definitely wouldnt be going back here or telling others.

We were there today. It cost £23 for myself and 3 kids to get in. I had to pay for everyone as only under 1s are free. This means it is actually more expensive in price than Belfast Zoo (£22 for myself and 7yr old and 4 yr old with 3 yr old free)for a few sheep in a field, a few ducks wandering about and some small animals in small concrete enclosures. The animals are clearly well looked after but all housing is concrete which is easy to clean, but hardly comfortable and certainly not with enough space particularly for the wallaby and the coatimundi. Good hand washing facilities and the eating area seems very clean. I would also object to the double row of barbed wire above the sheep wire in the outside paddocks, hardly safe for small children. Nor is the old style mangle a good idea in a children's play area. All in all, I was very disappointed in this place, feeling robbed as I left even without paying for a tractor ride which was extra, above the £23!!!

We came to the Fun Farm because the Ulster American Folk Park was closed with two children aged 9 and 6. It was a pleasant surprise to find it and it's cleanliness and newness was an added bonus. The farm is only open a year and is a work in progress, all the animals is well looked after and the children got to handle a turtle, hedgehog, rabbit and a guinea pig. Outdoor animals included goats, sheep, pigs, donkeys, pony, foul etc. A modern play area is available plus walks and lots of seating.

Relaxing afternoon with my eight year old. He loved feeding the animals especially the goats! We had a lovely picnic amongst the ducks! There is a good and colourful playground. Staff friendly. Would recommend.

Just back from a visit with 1, 2 and 4 year old. The place is spotlessly clean, very safe (you can let the children run free) and there is plenty to keep everyone occupied. Indoor and outdoor play areas were a hit. Being able to feed the animals was a real novelty, the baby goats were particularly cute. The staff were friendly, fun and very helpful. We're planning the next trip already!

Excellent setup, very clean and lots to see with a variety of animals. A good play area both outside and in the cafe. But it is very expensive for a family. £5.50 for a 2 year old and £6.50 for an adult is too much, there is no option of a family price. Also on principle there is additional cost of a £1 per ride on the tractor. Really need to review pricing for visitors wanting to visit often.

was out for the afternoon at this family place on Sunday the 20th of April 2014, with my son, wee niece, friend , her wee boy and my mummy. where we went isn't too wheelchair friendly my mummy is in a wheelchair now since last June. when we asked to speak to manager/owner this female person came out to us. when we said this place is not very suitable for wheelchairs, she say's we never had any complaints before!!!!!! well we def had, we said it was very hard to push a wheelchair through the stones that is everywhere on the premises. the women response to me was to go and get more muscles on me!!!! i think i am fit enough and never have trouble anywhere else pushing my mummy. then she went on to say sure we will give her a push down the HILL to see where she ends up????? i know where is would end up flat on her face with the wheelchair on top with her for it would tip on the stones. then she say's to me not even looking at my mummy sure i will give her a piggy back round it!!!! then she goes if we get her down the hill sure you push her round as far as you can?? THEN IF YOU ARE NEAR THE LAKE PART SURE PUSH HER IN THERE & SURE YOU WILL GET HER COMING DOWN THE RIVER FOYLE TOMORROW!!!! well my mother is not a burden on anyone she is very independent and can get around most places on her own steam so i would never dream of doing that!!! when we looked at this person she goes it is just my sense of humor well i have a sense of humor but that was just SICK!!! The men that work there took her down round the bottom of the place but when it came to come back up the hill again it took TWO OF THEM TO PULL HER FROM BEHIND AND ME PUSHING HER TOO to get her up the hill & this so person said SURE YOU CAN MANAGE YOURSELF. well it wouldn't matter how many hours i spent building my muscles up i still wouldn't have been able to do it myself!! needless to say i will never be back there disgusted is not the word. i feel like going to the papers about this matter — feeling disgusted.Plus when went to use the toilets that is meant to be used for wheelchairs/ disabled people there was a table sitting in the middle of the floor that has a changing mat on it which we had to move to one side, also a bin set in front of toilet that had to be moved my mother had to go in backwards to get in due to all this being in there not good.

Today was the first time to visit the Fun Farm. We travelled with our son and family. The grandchildren, well the 3yr old did, as the baby is only 5 months, loved feeding the animals. The variety of indoor and outdoor animals were fantastic. The areas were in excellent clean condition, facilities for hand washing, the staff were very friendly and helpful. (Even the animals were so well behaved!!) We also got to meet 2 new comers - 2 beautiful turtles!! Well I can tell the staff are spoiling them now!! The provision for outdoor play area, picnic tables and the walk around the pond. As we travelled by motorhome, we had our own food facilities but I can guess the food would be excellent in their immaculate indoor eating area. As the weather was sunny today, but cold, we were able to enjoy all the areas. This is a must for another day, regardless of the weather!! Thank you for a very enjoyable, relaxed and beautiful place to visit for family of all ages - also Granda had fun on the slide....shhhhhhhhhhh......
