Unfortunately we went in the winter and the castle itself was closed but we still took a walk around the grounds which are worth the view.

The national trust do it again. Great spot for dog walking and losing an afternoon even off season in the rain. The lake walk was lovely.

Castle Coole is still partially occupied but a large portion of the home is open and furnished for the National Trust. The building is gorgeous and very important to illustrate classical symmetry architecture with many false doors to balance the large rooms. The tour examines the main areas, upper bedrooms and servants quarters in the cellar including the wine cellar. The tour lasts an 1:15-1:30 minutes and is well worth the entrance fee. The cafe and stable book store are lovely and well appointed. Filming just took place in the house so this will become an even more contemporary visitor spot shortly.

Castle Coole is an 18th century, neo classical house built on the outskirts of Enniskillen. It has wonderful walks through the surrounding parklands. The house itself is well worth a visit as it gives a vivid glimpse into a bygone era of privilege and aristocracy. The rooms are essentially as they were in the late 1800's, with all the bespoke furniture and belongings on display. Stunning! Our guide was enthusiastic and funny. No overload on details but enough to keep us smiling and interested. The tour lasted one hour. The only small negative was not being able to take photographs inside the house as all the furnishings are still privately owned. We had a light lunch in the Tallow tea room which was delicious and very good value. All in all, a great way to spend an afternoon.

I'm no expert, but I consider this a manor house, not a castle. Did enjoy the house tour, no photos allowed. The interior reminded me of The TV show, Downton Abbey.

I recently visited Northern Ireland to visit some friends and they took us to Castle Coole - we had a brilliant time. It was a lovely sunny day which helped. The grounds are lovely, though don't expect formal gardens as this was built to be a Mansion in a Meadow so the gardens are not "planted" in the way you might expect at such a place. Still a wonderful place for a stroll though. The giftshop is lovely and reasonably priced and the lady was incredibly friendly and helpful. We went on the tour of the house which took around an hour and was very enjoyable indeed. Our tour guide, Melissa, was knowledgeble about the property and she did not come across as "scripted" which can't be easy when you do the same tour regularly. The hour flew in an dwe couldn't believe we had been in there for that long. Would definitely recommend this.

We were on Patricia's tour and she certainly knows her stuff and clearly enjoys her work! Her knowledge of the house and its history was incredible and she takes great pride in explaining all to adults and children alike. We did a lovely walk of the lake and the children enjoyed the play area. Again book shop was staffed by very pleasant volunteers.
