The family has visited the lido many times and never been disappointed in any way. The facilities are excellent but I would recommend avoiding peak times in the summer when it can be difficult to even find somewhere to sit. My suggestion is ' go midweek' and avoid August. The only very odd thing is they close the lido for cleaning for a week or two in September (as the holidays are over! their words) which seems ridiculous as it is generally still warm, why not do this in November or December or January?

Best moment to go is during the week, so you can avoid times where the swimming pool is too full. The slides are fun, swimming pool outside is warm enough to chill a couple of hours. I like it much more in Winter as it's less crowded.

Locarno's lido is one to visit on a bright sunny day as well as a clear chilly evening, with several indoor and outdoor pools catering for all ages and activities. As a semi local, living in the area for almost a year I never tired of visiting this public pool-come-healthclub: whether it was the prospect of racing down a flume known to me as the disco slide because of the colourful lights on the interior making the ride crazy fun, or the absolute bliss of sinking (figuratively) into the 35 degree plus heated outdoor minipool to watch sunset over the mountains and lake then stargaze in this starry spa, it didn't matter, the appeal was irresistible!

Lido Locarno is a great family day out. They've got a number of indoor and outdoor pools, water slides and inflatable obstacle courses available, plus a very warm outdoor pool for adults to relax in whilst the kids are playing. Pretty good value for money too for Switzerland!

We visited Lido Locarno on a nice, sunny day and had a great time! They have several indoor and outdoor pools at different temperatures and activities. There are fun pools for the little ones, a relaxation pool, a diving pool, awesome water slides, pools for lap swimming and, of course, a beach on lake Locarno. The view is amazing and all the facilities are very well maintained. If you visit Locarno in summer this is definitely a place to visit!

Every time, hot and sunny outdoors, cool and rainy indoors, the best arrangement of water pools in the Ticino. The clean lake Lago Maggiore in summer for the swim in the open water, the 50 m outdoor pool for sports afficionados, the jumping towers up to 10 m with a safe separate and deep pond, and the heated outdoor play pool. Wonderful, clean. Beautiful mountain view. The 25 m indoor pool, the large kids's pool to learn swimming and play and the toddlers's place. Plus the big tubes for the teenagers to race down inside like a roller coaster from a high tower and splash into the pond.Lately, next to the public pools, also a luxury spa. A wonderful place!

This is a new development in Locarno, and is well supported by locals and visitors alike. We didn't go in but the facilities looked excellent from the outside!

Lido Locarno is located a short walk or bus ride from the centre of Locarno. We had a Ticino card so it was free, although we had to pay for our younger child who didn't need the Ticino card for transport and other attractions. There are two indoor pools and a number of outdoor pools, although when we were there only one outdoor pool was in use. The centre is very modern and clean. The indoor pools were a pleasant temperature. The outdoor pool is warm. It is quite amazing to be able to swim in the outdoor pool while enjoying views of the lake and snow covered mountains. The changing rooms are unisex, with lockers, showers and individual changing booths. When you arrive you are given a token which gives you access to a locker. There is a rather expensive cafe with access from both the pool size and the "dry" side of the leisure centre.

A fabulous place. Reasonable cost entry (given the fabulousness of the facility.) Great variety of pools, water features and kids' pool options. Plus a lakeside beach, lawn with loungers, play area, a cafe and, most importantly, a view to die for. You can spend all day here, then get the public bus to Ascona for the incandescent sunset (or even better, get the early evening ferry circuit from Ascona, which gives 5 different sunsets with all the mountain ranges it goes past.) We are itchy to get back just to repeat this perfect experience. (Just to add, river swimming of course is a must in this area too. Cool, green, icy water, hot sun, mountains all around..)

The Lido di Locarno, one of Ticino’s most modern bathing facilities and water worlds, is open all year round in any weather. It is equipped with numerous indoor and outdoor pools, an Olympic-size swimming pool, a thermal pool, a children’s pool and four water slides. The complex is huge and nice. I really recommend this new place

I do find this place a bit pricy, but you can't get away from it in the summer. Though the Macha river is a nice, free alternative, if you have time to go there. This place does get quite crowded, but there is a lot to do: lake, pools, slides, taning on the beach. Unfortunately the slides do cost extra.

One of the greatest swimmingpool centres i have visited, even if it is in my hometown :)Great for families with kids.Only disadvantage: you need to chose the right time to visit: on weekends in the summer it can be quite crowded.I recommend a visit to the new annexed, much more quiet spa for a more relaxing saltwater pool experience with lake and mountain view.

A very nice swimming pool and attractions green and clean area by the lakeshore of Lago Maggiore. Being right by the border with Switzerland, the entrance fee can be paid in Euros, Swiss Francs or Credit Card. About 35 euros per day, per family. Good clean water, and specially the water slides are fun. A bit crowded with small children running everywhere, but there are possibilities for relaxation. The food was a bit pricy and few selections, but most of the people brought their own picnic food.

Living above Locarno, this is one of my regular haunts. I have a yearly subscription to the pool and gym. There are three indoor pools - one for babies, one for 'messing around' and aquagym, spinning etc and a 25m pool for 'serious' lap swimmers. Outside, lakeside, are three more pools, including a big 50m pool, plus a diving pool with a 10m board. This is open at intervals under supervision. There is also an enormous waterchute, which ends up in an inside pool, and is open all year. The setting is superb. In the winter, from the hot pool outside you can gaze over the lake towards Bellinzona, or look up at the snowcapped peaks of Cimetta, and Gambarogno. In the summer, you can stretch out on the grass which goes down the the lakeside beach. If you're feeling very energetic you can visit the gym on the first floor before you relax round the pool. It's fully equipped with all the latest technology in the way of exercise machines, and the A/C works a treat! You have the same views over the lake and mountains as from the pools.
