A wooden church that is uniquely designed. Both the exterior and the interior is fascinating. Inside a lot of light. A wall painting in the front by Prince Eugen. Other ornaments by Christian Ericsson - to note are particularly the 10 figures outside.

We stopped here after lunch, it is a lovely church to have a look around, and there are printed sheets in English to explain the history.A local was telling us that as part of the relocation of Kiruna away from the mine, the church is going to be dismantled and moved to a new location, which will be a feat of engineering.

Voted the most beautiful building in Sweden by the swedish people, it clearly deserves it ! Beautiful from the outside, and definitely impressive from the inside !

This is the first time I'm coming across a church that doesn't explicitly look like one. It appeared more like a Chinese pagoda to me. I think its the architecture of the church and the brick red paint it dons that makes it stand out on a white sheet of snow so extraordinarily! The church is surrounded by a large and beautiful park area. The inside of the church is however a bit lack-lustre with nothing special looking.

We visited the outside of this church one evening in early January on our visit to Kiruna. It was lovely to see as it is a beautiful building & so picturesque in the glistening white pristine snow that surrounds it. We would have liked to see inside but unfortunately it closes I think at 3pm. Well worth a visit to see if you're walking around the town.

Lovely old church smelling of natural wood. A true Swedish experience. The church will be moved once the city of Kiruna moves due to mining works.

This, one of the top attractions in Kiruna, is a must see for sure. Do not be dissapointed once you step in though, because it is rather depressive with all the dark wood. Definitely worth seeing, it looks beautiful in winter with all the snow around.

This is a beautiful church and we enjoyed the performance when we were here. Worth going to if you are able to.

We have been at thr Kiruna church in December very close to Christmas and it was a wonderful view. The way up to the church is covered in snow and the church itself is standing out like a rock. No entrance fee, a good photo opportunity and with a selfie extension stick for your phone you can have a lot of phone.

A very pleasant place to visit. Usual simple elegance of Swedish design in a park-like setting. One can go inside the main church but the beautiful bell tower outside is off limit. It is a Free place to visit.

One is reminded of a Lapp cottage when entering the church. A number of prominent artists have contributed to the ornamentation of the church. The twelve statues show the human frames of mind, such as prayer and desperation. You can buy postcards inside.

A beautiful church, the largest wooden church we have ever seen. It was featured on a Swedish stamp, covered in snow. Free entry, open every day.

nice building really not common in its architecture, very interesting to visit, in walking distance form the town centre

Beautiful church built in the style of traditional housing tents of the Sami people. Visit near the summer solstice and you may see Sami in traditional dress.
