Went up through Mamore Gap today. Was lovely. Amazing views of the se and the low land! Great horse shoe bends on the way down. The local sheep were out to welcome us!

we drove up in the mountains, kinda got lost about how to actually get to the gap. we finally found it down some really narrow dirt roads. nice views from here.

We discovered this place one Sunday afternoon during a relaxing drive and now it has become something of a tradition to pass through here every now and again. It is true that it is not a great idea to take nervous passengers it is quite nerve wrecking at certain points but the road has been recently improved and will be passable to drivers of all skill levels who show some caution. The grotto at the peak with statues of Our Lady and Padre Pio is very peaceful and lots of people have left their asthma inhalers there - Believing that they no longer need them. Im sure the fresh air has a lot to do with this!! Cant wait to visit again!!

Brilliant drive with brilliant views, I would say in jest though don't take nervous passengers as they won't see anything with their eyes shut tight on the way up or down (depending how you approach it)..... Worth it though for the views.

On our way to Malin Head, we drove through Mamore Gap and this was amazing. It allowed us to feel the remoteness of the place and enjoy the diversity of scenery in Donegal.

You need to do this trip.....part of the inishowen 100 . You'll use first gear a lot .....and watch out for the sheep , the views are breathtaking and when the sun is shining it is out of this world...be thankful your in a car as it is also done as part of a bike race ?!?!......and it's free.

This is well worth a visit - it has unbelievable views. We were so lucky as the weather was blue sky. Bit scary at times driving up for me but the views are incredible!!

Fantastic part of the world well worth the trip I was really impressed by the beauty the views of the sea and looking down on the well set out fields on both sides of the steep drive over the Gap :)

What a view from the top. One little bit of advice if you have the time, visit Fort Dunree first and on the way to the Gap lookout for the signpost (You need a sharp eye to see it) for the Gap. This way you will go up the Gap and then you will see the wonderful vista of Dunaff Head from the top.If you can, stop at the Holy Well with the religious statues. At the bottom of the Gap turn right and you will come across some lovely white cottages. Don't forget to take your camera.

Quite steep and hairy in places, but well worth the trouble! The views are stunning and the shrines add interest when almost at the top.

Worth the crazy driving experience for the most amazing views! One of Ireland's least known gems - try it.

This is a must see to appreciate the amazing panoramic views as you climb up the mountain. The scenery is spectacular of the wild untouched landscape.

Great views on the way up or down of the valley, hills and sea beyond. All spiced with a tinge of adventure on the narrow roads with passing places.

Great trip up and down to this famous gap.... steep hills up and down with time to savour the view to the Atlantic.
