Helpful and informative. The sparkling wine is gorgeous and incredibly good value. The white is also beautiful. Can't really comment on the others,

We visited following good reviews in our holiday cottage guest book, and were given a lovely lady guide who was able to show the site off to us all (including 2 teenagers and a 7 year old). The place was spotless, and the video tour was really interesting, with lots of time for questions along the way. The caves were 12 degrees, contrasting against the 28 outside, but actually, it was really refreshing, and we didn't need the jackets that our guide had brought for us. It's possible to visit the vineyards, but they are up lots of flights of external steps - it would be possible to do the tour without visiting the top, but the view is spectacular up there of the town and chateau at Saumur. We were given 5 or so samples of wine to try, and our 7 year old was given grape juice so he didn't feel left out. No pressure to buy anything, but we did buy quite a lot - receiving a free LC branded corkscrew and a stopper for the sparkling wine (not that we expect to leave a bottle unfinished!!)Admission was 5 Euros for the adults, nothing for the children, and the admission fee was refunded against purchases. As good as any of the Champagne tours at Epernay.

Thank you all for coming! The high season is definitely under way and we are delighted to be able to show the winery backstage several times a day! We are pleased that you enjoyed both the tour and off course most important, the tasting, we hope to see you again to try the 2013 vintage!

Thanks for your visit, off course it is a challenge to propose a visit that can be interesting both for people with just the basic knowledge in wine, and for people like you with a lot of experience! We try our best and it is great to read in your comment that you enjoyed the tour and still could learn a few things. We hope to welcome you again for the 2013 vintage!

This small winery has a lot lot to offer. Our guide Isabel was quite informative and we learned many interesting details. The brief 'classroom' and video was a great intro, and the tour of the caves where the wine is stored is stored was "cool" literally and figuratively. Our pleasant tour ended with tastings and we had sparkling wines that we never expected would be so enjoyable.

Hello,I believe that you meant to write about the Castle of Saumur ? Langlois-Chateau is a wine Estate in Saumur, it is easy to mistake since our name also bears the name "chateau", which was the family name of our founder, Jeanne Chateau. You are more than welcome to stop for a tour of the winery and a full tasting of our still and sparkling wines...harvest time will be in a few days, you could get a feel of the special mood that reigns then!A bientot

Thank you very much for your comment ! It is true that a few houses exist along the same street, for a good reason: we are next to a 40m cliff, which is actually one of the two sides of the Loire Valley. Therefore we can run a vineyard on top of it, have a cellar next to the vines and send the wine by natural gravity into the caves below. The site is natural and ideal for wines houses ! We hope to see you again at Langlois-Chateau!
