Nice places to go with the kids. Plenty animals to see and enjoy. The Bojnice castle in the background adds to a very pleasant atmosphere.

We spend a nice afternoon in Bojnice ZOO, our two year old twins had fun - saw the elephants for the first time. ZOO is very big and the oldest in Slovakia. Also, as far as I know, the only one that keeps elephants. And that is probably why it is popular. But on that day they were locked inside - I do not know why. We also loved the monkeys (mummy and baby) as they gave us a nice show with blanket. We had fun in mini ZOO with domestic animals. But some animals look as the are not happy and a lot of cages need reconstruction and much better care.

I think the zoo has a lot of potential as it has nice surroundings. Unfortunately is not well kept the animals were cramped in tiny cages or aquariums..very sad sight. We had an accident and there is no first aid in the zoo????? Shocking! All they have seemed to be interested was to make money on the side with bouncy castles, rides etc. But the welfare of the animals is not their concern..it is just a tourist trap to get people in and make bussines from the stalls, ice cream shops etc.I would never visit this sad zoo again and would never recommend it to anyone. I hope it will get shut down for yhe sake of the animals and they would be moved somewhere nicer to live. It has similiar feel as when you go to rescue centre and the dogs are all looking at you witb thejr sad eyes..hoping you would choose them and take them home.

We went to the zoo as soon as they opened and the animals were very active. My favorites were the Lion and bears. But those monkeys and their business gave them all a run for the money. :)

Nice animals in terrible conditions. Poor lion, bears and elephants...Entrance fee is low, 4 EUR per person, my 2 years old son was for free.

The zoo offers a lot of animals to look at and it's a pleasant stroll and a little work out because the zoo continues in an uphill slope, however the reward is a great photo of the perched castlel in the background. There is another great photo oppportunity in the zoo where you can see the entire huge castle in the background. (I think this one is by the pond, maybe by the reptile house)

Don´t go there if you dont want see animals suffer. Bear in dirty hole made of concrete. Lion - King of beast vegetating in 3*4 meters large terarium. Old, small and dirty cages and pavillons. Really worst zoo I have ever seen next to Praha, Zlin, Brno, Jihlava, Olomouc, Plzen, Vienna, Barcelona. Only one good thing is nice view on a beatiful casle next to zoo.

Perfect amusement park to spend a whole day. Visit castle an zoo too. Check the spooky weeks in summer there.

nice and beautiful zoo. Not very big, but definitely worth a visit. various kinds of frogs that are world rarity. I recommend to go on visit.

very favourite place for chidren and pupils. Nice location in forrest. There are many animals and birds from whole world.

Of course some animals this season it was not possible to see it. But the ride is pleasant and logical. Sure is always a zoo with cages.The types of animals that you may encounter is vast and quite complete. Too bad that my second or maybe third visit took place in bad weather because not far over to the castle really fascinating to visit there is a large park with swimming pool and so you can live a really full day especially if you have children or teenagers.

The oldest zoo in Slovakia (*1955).The best one-day walk on a sunny day - children´s paradise.Quite impossible to drag away my little grandson from monkey´s cages.

they did have many babies :) the kangoroos are not so skinny and apatic as in budapest .. we liked it

one of the nicest zoo i went to, very next to beautiful Bojnice castle which is a MUST see miracle
