This castle has been restored beautifully and has many interesting exhibits including a sampling of weapons and costumes. It is situated as many castles are, at the confluence of two rivers making for a scenic backdrop.

Bauskas Castle have been renovated for long time now, but it is still mainly ruins and rocks. It is the Livonia Order Castle, built in 15th century. It is a very interesting stop on the day trip around this side of Latvia (there are a few castles and interesting places in this region, including beautiful Rundales Palace). Wort the view once you get up in the tower - the view shows 2 rivers (Musa and Memele) coming together and starting new - Lielupe (in translation that means The Grand River). This pictuersquere view use to was printed on Latvian money note, before Latvia turned to eiro.

With friends visited this castle during a short tour of Latvia.Bauskas Castle is located in a between rivers - Musa and Memel. Near the place, where rivers mergers and start new river Lielupė. Bauskas Castle architectural ensemble consists of two parts. The older - the Livonian Order Castle - built in the 15th century, but in our time lies in ruins. Newer - Kurland dukes residence - was built in the 16th century.In Duke's residence is located a permanent museum exhibition and thematic exhibitions. Visitors can see the ruins of the castle of the Order, to rise to the central tower and view Bauska panorama. The price of tickets 4 euros, for children, cheaper ...Recommend to visit for 2 hours.

Bauska Castle is a nice refurbished castle not far from the more famous Rundale Palace. The castle is in the process of being refurbished, so not all of the castle is available for viewing.Parts of the interior are a museum telling the history of the area and examples of weapons, clothing and household artifacts from medieval days.You can climb the tower to get views of the entire area.There are several "activities" for kids (stocks; archery; make your own medieval coin with a sledge hammer). I made several coins for gifts for my young grandnephews.Other comments: nice cafe next to the Castle; modest amount of walking; not wheelchair friendly.

замок находится недалеко от Риги, до него можно добраться на машине или на пригородном автобусе. На территорию замка можно попасть несплатно, за вход в музей нужно заплатить.

Замок состоит из двух частей: одна полностью восстановлена (кстати, не самым лучшим образом: выпуклые камни кладки просто нарисованы на штукатурке), вторая - законсервирована в оригинальном состоянии. Не уверена, что имеет смысл ехать сюда специально, но по пути вполне можно заехать посмотреть.

Ничего особенного, стандартный средневековый замок, не впечатлил, особенно после посещения роскошного Рундальского дворца

Любителям замков стоит потратить полдня и съездить в Бауску из Риги. Автобусы ходят часто, время в пути 1 ч 10 мин, стоимость 3,05 евро. Посещение замка: комплексный билет - 5 евро, только подъем на башню - 1,5 евро. Замок находится в небольшом парке и состоит из двух частей: отреставрированной и руин старого замка Ливонского ордена. Экспозиция маленькая, но все равно стоит входного билета. Особенно понравились реплики костюмов и обуви на третьем этаже башни. Повидимому замок будут продолжать реставрировать и экспозиция будет расширяться.

Gdy zada się to pytanie, jedną z odpowiedzi powinien być z pewnością zamek w Bausce. Co prawda dla miłośników historii najważniejsze są ruiny po zamku krzyżackim, których zostało już bardzo niewiele, ale cały obiekt prezentuje się znakomicie. Również widoki ze wzgórza piękna, bo zamek otoczony jest 2 rzekami. Polecam, zwłaszcza, że stąd niedaleko już do Rygi oraz do przepięknego Pałacu w Rundale. Więcej na szerokadroga.pl

Удивительно найти настолько настоящий замок в "нашей" Прибалтике! Слияние двух рек, мощные белоснежные башни отреставрированной части, причудливые очертания руинной части. Симпатичный исторический музей.

Стоит посмотреть, если в принципе по пути (нам было по пути от Риги до Таллина). Развалины замка, его башня с подъемом на смотровую оказались весьма интересными, наделали десятки фото. Впечатления только положительные. с Башни красивый вид через реку на зажиточные дома ;)

2 замка в одном. Один замок Ливонского ордена 15 века, второй Курляндский конца 16 века. И соединены в одном. Советую посмотреть.

Очень красивый замок. Находится на холме, который был когда-то окружен рвом, через который сейчас проходит асфальтированная дорожка, но все равно чувствуется дух средневекового строения. Одна часть представляет собой более позднее строение, а другая - развалины замка Ливоноского ордена. Впечатления непередаваемые - как будто прикасаешься к самой Истории. На протяжении всей экскурсии сохранялось ощущение, что стены этого замка хранят такое количество тайн и загадок, что они помнят такие давние события и знают столько, чего нам уже никогда не постигнуть.... Потрясающе!

Imponente maniero cinquecentesco posto alla confluenza di due corsi d'acqua, fu lasciato andare in rovina, ma conserva ancora la maestosità di un tempo. Interessante la salita sulla torre che consente una visione panoramica dei dintorni. In parte ricostruito, ospita esposizioni di reperti medievali. Molto bello anche il parco adiacente, dove, in un'apposita struttura, vengono organizzati spettacoli all'aperto.

Le fotografie aeree trovate su internet sono molto belle, è vero, ma dal vivo è stata una mezza delusione: sarà perché una parte era in fase di restauro, sarà perché - non avendo contanti ma solo carta di credito - non abbiamo potuto acquistare il biglietto per salire sulla piccola torre e ammirare il paesaggio circostante, sarà perché la nostra passeggiata nel parco adiacente è stata rovinata da qualche goccia di pioggia, ma in ogni caso non conserverò un buon ricordo (delle rovine) di questo castello. Se siete da queste parti, vi consiglio vivamente il Palazzo di Rundale, a pochi km a ovest di Bauska e molto molto più interessante.
