This museum contains a range of Etruscan Amphorae, Kraters and otter interesting items from Etruscan tombs. The lighting is poor but good enough.

The museum focuses on the Necropolis di Spina, between Ferrara and the sea in the delta of the Po. The findings are amazing and exceedingly well displayed in a lovely place in via Settembre. The Greeks were very influential and the restored pots, and the jewellery are astounding the finds trace through the Estruscan and Celtic influemces and one builds a good picture of the life of the people at the time. The map room is great with maps painted on the wall from different periods.

Ferrara is amazing ancient city, so it should be there a good museum. This thoughts came to me, when I was living in Ferrara for a while... Mmm, I'm missing that time! Sorry, my review is close)))So some questions and responses about this place:1. Is it good? - NO!!! It is amazing and very impressive (of course if you love history and archeology)2. Is it hard to get there? - no, I found it very easily by the way to home.3. Is it expensive? - no, especially if you are student (50% discount), especially if you are studying at the department of archeology (it's free for them, if I'm not wrong it is usually for other archaeological museums in a whole Italy)4. Is it interesting? - Definitely!!!I hope that would be enough to You to make a decision to visit Museo Archeologico Nazionale.Ciao!!!

We too were amazed at the quantity and quality of the objects on show at this museum. It is a treasure trove of Greek and Etruscan pottery and jewelry from the ancient city of Spina, with the highlights being some wonderful Attic vases. Everything was very well displayed in a spacious old palazzo and, unlike in some other Italian museums, there were plenty of informative explanations in English. We also had a brief oral introduction to the background of Spina from a very helpful staff member. It's a real gem and deserves to be much better known and visited - we had the place virtually to ourselves on the day we went.

We were received very friendly and shown some very special thins. There is a exposition about the lost Etruscan town Spina which was very good.

Amazing exhibition of Ancient Greek city spina. Don't loose the opportunity to see a large collection of exquisite Etruscan-Greek red-figure Attic terracotta vases, the museum testifies to the ancient archaeological history of the whole province!

So many treasures from the earliest settlements in the Po Valley. The scale and quality of the artefacts displayed - especially the Greek pottery and the gold jewellery - is amazing. Surprising because we did not expect to find such a collection in a small (but wonderful and beautiful) city like Ferrara. The presentation of everything is exceptional.

Incredibile collection of Etruscan exhibits in the beautiful setting of a Renaissance Palace, - so much to see here, Renaissance frescos, fabulous Attic vases, gold and amber Etruscan jewellery, Would you believe that they have one of the largest collections of Attic vases here outside of Greece due to the trading that went on between the Etruscan town on Spina and Athens.

Brilliant museum with the fruits of the excavation of a previously lost Etruscan city. Stunning collection of Ancient Greek Pottery. The Ferrara tourist office should make much more of a fuss about this museum!

Impressive museum, very well organized. A lot of history from the origins of Italy. Many artefacts from the etruscan culture. This museum is prepared for all ages. Deserves to spend a long time in the museum. Beautiful gardens.

Interesting place. However closes at 5 PM and ticket fols are not very friendly. The first day we arrived in Ferrara we tried to go in the afternoon but we were too late
Poligonale
Well planned and explained. The two prehistoric boats are impressive as are the gardens. There are some brilliant Greek black figure vases and these are of astonishing quality.

Beautiful displayed major works of archaeological interest in rooms that are themselves works of art.
