When my sister and I visited Corfu, we were lucky enough to have Corfu tour guides (we stayed at a co-workers families house; a more local experience than tourist), so we were able to get to and see many places that typical tourists are not able to experience. That being said, compared to all of the other unique places that we were able to see Pelekas was our favorite beach. First, it's stunningly gorgeous there with calm, clear water and it's a sandy beach so no funny beach hopping from hurting your toes (pebble beaches are nice too, but sand beaches are usually easier to manage). This was the cheapest beach to rent chairs (one euro) and an umbrella (two euros). Also, the dogs that are there are the cutest. We ended up going back to Pelekas multiple times because we loved it so much. There are restaurants there as well if you don't bring drinks or food with you. Just be aware of the drive it takes to get there, imagine a crazy windy hike on a cliff.Go to this beach if you want a picturesque experience in Corfu.

We didn't go to Pelekas beach but we did go to Pelekas a few times. Good restaurant in the centre and oddly, a witches' shop. Well worth carrying on up the hill to the Kaiser's Seat for the views.

The location of Pelekas Beach is great: the sandy beach is backed by wooded mountains, has cristal clear water, easy access into the water, is safe, has all opportunities for adults and children, sunbeds and bare sand, mondaine beach cafés like Naqual, and also ordinary Greek taverns. It is all there on that short stretch of sand between rocky cliffs. The romantic village of Pelekas is a short but steep ride into the mountains with several cosy eateries and Greek village atmosphere. Good for a couple of days relaxing holiday.

Narrow road but worth the trip. The beach and views are worthy of the Corfu experience and has plenty of seaside type holiday feelings.

The beach is very nice and clean.Despite it's popular it's not that crowded. Beacuse the beach is connected to the open sea you'll have a chance to enjoy bigger waves (1-1,5 metres max). The cliffs on the left side are amazing they're worth to climb for some good pictures.

...for the following reasons:- fine golden sand - unlike some other beaches on the island which have stones or some stones, Pelekas has very fine sand to delight the feet- warm and clear water, with a while to walk before hitting deep water, and hardly any waves- no alge or any dirt in the water, just fish. the fine sand had a strange way of settling down as soon as you walked by, keeping the water vey clearBetter than Paleokastritsa (too cold) or Agios Gordios or Mitriotissa (a bit more pebbly)The village of Pelekas is very quaint and we had a very good lunch there. The beach though is a long way down (we went there by car) - there are some hotels and resorts near the beach, but I doubt there's much to do there besides enjoy the wonderful beach and water.

I'm not much of a beach and sea visitor, but one of the main activities during my time in Corfu was snorkeling and Pelekas is a nice place to do so. There's an area with rocks (big and small), where there a a lot of fish, and there's the main beach, where the sea is usually calm and perfect for a swim. And when there's some more wind, and the waves come in, it's absolutely worth a dive! Toilets and showers available, lots of sunbeds (to be paid for) and food and drinks available. Tha last week of outr vacation we stayed at Kaasiopi, in the north, and we rented a car so we could return to Pelekas, and it was worth the 1 1/2 hour trip!

I really liked this beach....great scenery, very safe, shallow waters, and one of the warmest seas I've been in. we went up the coast to Paleokastritsa on the same trip and the sea (same sea!) was so much colder strange! It was busy but we visited it a few times. If going during peak season with children I would go in the morning to secure the best sunbeds closest to sea. Can't wait to go back one day.

This is a superb beach, very safe for families. Also take a snorkel as the rocks have little fishes of all shapes and sizes on. Beds and brollies have to be paid for but not too expensive. The donut man even delivers to your sunbed .

The Beach in Pelekas is about 1km long and nice for taking a cool bath. In august it is very packed and a lot of People come here. if you Like This kind of beach athmosphere, its the right place for you. A lot of sunbeds and taverns wait for you. I personally would prefer more calm atmosphere for a relaxed day at the beach. But if you dont mind a packed beach with a friendly athmosphere, its surely worth visit.

The beach is not far from the main road (but there's a steep descent towards the sea), there are 2-3 paid parking areas available (3 Euros / day) and a great restaurant near the beach. Sunbeds are available for free if you order drinks and the water is quite great. The sand is ok, there's room to have some fun playing beach voley or something and thre's also a hotel nearby. The only issue is that it's not close to any larger resort. As a personal (and spicy) note: prettiest girls are to be found here :)
