A great place to relaxe in the sun, read a book and take a swim. There is also many private beaches next to it that you can swim to.

The crystalline turquoise water is second to none. The smell of the sulphur salts can be off-putting at first, but the water works wonders on your skin. A must-see if on holiday in Zante.

We've been on this beach 2 times on our trip to Zante and I can say that it is one of the most beautiful beaches I ever seen. A little bit smelly, but you get used to it very quick. Incredible view and water color, it's heaven on earth.

Smelly beach because of the sulphur. In a beautiful location. Lovely small beach and the sea is wonderful.

First of all, if you come by car be aware that there are more than one beach called Xygia! They all are very close. We visited 3 of them but only the last one was with sulphur and the smell. The first one had a very steep drive down and then very steep steps. There was a kiosk at the top. That beach was lovely and we stayed there for some time. Later we climbed through the fallen rocks to the other, much larger beach where big boat tours come to let people for a swim. We didn't like that one so didn't stay for very long. Finally we drove just a bit further and saw a sign for the sulphur beach. There also was a kiosk at the top but the steps weren't as steep as previously. And then the smell hit us! Rotten eggs! We didn't mind the smell as after some time in the water you get used to it. The swimming was amazing here! Deep, but easy to keep yourself floating. There is a cave that you can swim to see up close. This sulphur beach was very enjoyable, really great for swimming!

Don't miss this beach - is small and average but the sulphur springs coming from rocks in sea is a touch for life and when you get into the water you can feel the difference on your skin in a minute. Is a wonder of nature unique in the world when salty water is combined with suplhur & colagen water. It is an amazing sensation!

another natural wonder. the sulphur waters in zante. the beach is quite secluded and lovely and clean. the smell of sulphur is a bit off putting but as we were only visiting on a boat for 15 mins it was fine. the waters appear cloudy I think this is from the sulphur. a great trip .

Beautiful beach in Zante. Must see. It's a napural spa from the sea. Fine snak bar at at road. Smells like an egg because the sulphur is in the water that reach a sea from the rocks. It's unbelievable.

Visited here on the 6th September, it's a truely wonderful site to behold. The staff at the bar at the top of the stairs down were very friendly and the vistas from up there were wonderful. It does smell of eggs, but it's a sulphur beach, anyone who is put off by this should move on and visit another beach. All the kids loved it, I never went in myself, preferring to capture the beauty on my camera and photograph the kids having fun.Another must visit place, along with Porto liminios and navagio bay, it doesn't dissapoint.

We visited the smaller springs further along first, then the 'real' sulphur beach later. The first beach I personally enjoyed more. The Sulphur beach gets busy easily, the sea was very cold, I didn't enjoy the sulphur bits getting up my nose and in my mouth! There wasn't much to see when snorkeling except large bolders in the water - so be careful!. Because of the sheer rock faces either side you have to visit at the right time to get the sun.

This is a great little beach, azure blue, crystal clear waters. We stopped on the way through to tour the Blue Caves. The only thing is, is the smell of rotten eggs. Apparently it has healing properties but when you have a nose like a bloodhound, like me, its hell.

Beautiful beach with white pebbles and turquoise water. Seabed is covered in finest sand possible. There are lots of huge rocks near the shore with lots of fish so anyone can enjoy snorkeling, even not so great swimmers. To reach the beach there are around 50 very steep steps from parking point, so that can be a problem to some people, but it is worth it.Sulfur spring does not smell that bad as travel agent announced it will. There is tavern at the top of those steps and there are sunbeds to rent at the beach. The view from that tavern is incredible so don't miss this hidden jewel of a beach. There are three smaller beaches that are part of this beach. There is a spring of cold water next to sea shore on third small beach, so the water is a little bit colder. At least it was in august in morning hours.

We came upon sulphur beech one day when out for a drive. It smells of eggs at 1st but get past that and walk down for a swim. Sit and rub the sand on your skin, the best skin care you will ever get for free. Drinks and ice cream delivered from the top in a basket. a real gem, if your a good swimmer go for a swim straight out with the cliff to your right and see the sulphur come out of the rock, you will see the white colour in the water from the shore but when you swim out you will get to experience the change in water temp just at the white parts of the water it mad the difference
