This is a small cute shop on the main drag that sells authentic handcrafted items. Most made of wood..but there are some lovely pieces made of various metals and pottery. My friends and I picked some small clay pieces as gifts. There was ONLY ONE of the clay piece that I choose. It was a red clay heart with an old Greek coin attached with beautiful beads. I handed the Owner, an older man, my choice. He personally boxed it and taped it closed in several places. Then wrapped it for me. I did not open the box until we arrived home in the States. What was in the box was NOT what I had chosen at all. I was soooooo disappointed. The gift was for a family member who is critically ill. That's why I particularly chose the red heart with the old Greek coin. I tried contacting the Owner several times to no avail. I even emailed pictures of what was in the box, and then in detail describing what I had purchased. Nothing. No response. The Owner had seemed nice, so friendly that I didn't think to double check what he boxed up.Please don't be naive. Some shops depend on the fact that most Tourist, will be in town for a day, or if on a cruise, for only a few hours. Be careful when shop owners box or wrap your gifts or purchases. Take the time to double check. And as for the Talanto Patmos Workshop...take my experience as a serious warning!
